how do I remove front license plate mount

Has anybody successfully removed their front license plate mount? If so, how did you do it, and what type of tool did you use? It looks like it would just unscrew, as long as you had the right type of tool. Looks like a torx bit with only 3 prongs sticking out every 120 degrees. Or can the dealer remove this does anybody know?

I don't have to have a front license plate, but my car came with a mount, that I didn't notice when I bought it.

Werll, I don't have a front mount at all. There are three divots in the front bumper where I guess you are supposed to drill. Guessing You just have holes in the bumper cover. Unscrewing should work unless it is glued!

It's held on with pop-rivets and you have to drill them out and then you have these three ugly ass holes in your front bumper. I did it to mine but I just put pop-rivets back in the holes. It'll do til I get a new bumper.

At least mine was.
