Hello everybody, I'm Maxim from Switzerland, I've a Cobalt SS from 2007. I don't speak very well english so sorry for mistakes. I don't know if I must do a presentation of me??
So I've a question, how can i do more noise with a little money? For exemple, before i had a Corrado G60 and in the air box was a plastic silencer so i removed this silencer and after the noise of the corrado was amazing!!!! Can i do something like that in the Cobalt??

the cobalt ss's also have a silencer just underneath the air box that if you take off will allow for more noise, you could also unbolt your exhaust system just and take off the rear portion with the resonator and the muffler which would really make your car noisy

Realy? I did'nt see the silencer under the air box... have you a picture of it??
yeah for the exhaust but in Switzerland it's too dangerous with the cops, but tkhs for the idea.

Along with what he said about removing stuff, you can also buy exhaust tips or aftermarket high flow exhaust mufflers that will give you better and louder sounds. They are more expensive than just removing parts but it is legal and will give you better power, at least with the muffler replacement, not so much the tip.

wow exhaust tips messing with the exhaust if your car is supercharged take the intake of and cut the hole bottom of it off and buy a new filter one that stays on by a screw and than you will get some nice noice but if you want it to sound like crap buy a fart can iv done that and it dont sound good now i got headers to a full magna flow exhaust and it sounds amazing and if you want a GREAT cobalt site go www.************* where everything is free and they dont charge for memeberships

Yes but I love the cobalt, and one was in Switzerland so I buy it!! And I'm realy happy now, and in my family we "love" american cars, my mother had a Chevy Impala before, my vater a Ford mustang and my brother had a Chevy berreta gtz... :D

You are going to have to buy a different air filter cone or cylinder. One that has a hose clamp that you can screw on to the box lip where the old filter was. After you do that, you will drill a hole in the side of the airbox so you can stick a screwdriver in there to tighten the clamp. all done

Hey, he said cheap ways to modify the sounds, not the best most expensive ways to do it. That's why I said the tip. Yeah, you aren't going to get a huge difference but it's going to be slightly different. The point is a tip cost $10 or so which is what you would pay for a night out to eat. Which makes it cheap. So if you want a good way to change the sound buy an intake and an exhaust, but guess what? That costs a lot of money and I remember him saying he wants a cheap way.

Ok thanks everybody for all your answers, yesterday I removed the silencer, the noise is not realy big but now the hiss of the air aspiration is stronger.
Yeah I will buy a exhaust one day, but does everybody know if I can buy the SLP Loud Mouth II™ DUAL outlet in switzerland????? because I'm realy interested by them!

thats wrong man, i didnt want to do it, my 85lbs pit bull/bull dog mix didnt have a window in my 04 Cavailer coupe and would always try and stick his head out of mine while he is in the back seat, so i got the sedan (damn I love that dog lol)

Not really. A tip just adds style to the exhaust.

You really want more noise? Have the muffler removed and just run pipe.
