: K&N Intake on 2005 SS/SC... Any lean Air/fuel problems?

I'm looking to install a K&N CAI on my 2005 SS/SC. Has anyone else done this and if so, have they had any issues with it running lean? If so, how bad and what did you do to fix it? I know at some point (especially when I upgrade the SC pulley) I'll need to get bigger injectors, but is it necessary to do so prior to the CAI to ensure that I'm going to deliver enough fuel to the mix?

Next project (probably next month) will be replacing that rattle can of a stock exhaust with a Magnaflow cat-back system.

Any suggestions or thoughts to consider will be appreciated.

I installed a K&N CAI on my 06 SS/SC about 2 weeks ago and havn't had any problems at all. I havn't done the stage two yet. Sometimes if the filter has too much oil on it that can cause the cel! Hope this helps.

if thats all your doing is the CAI you shouldnt have any problems with it running lean. Doesnt the S/C already have a CAI stock? Iam pretty sure there on the side of the wheel well and goes down from there. Hell i dont know much about the S/C ones. Iam just speaking outloud

the SC cold air has an "air box" that can flow a little bit better.

It does grab air from the same spot a CAI would, but its a regular ole air intake once u look down there. You can free flow up a little bit by cutting off the air box, and attaching a filter (air box mod) or you can redo it with an entire cold air intake.

you do not need bigger injectors with a CAI.

O got ya, i know some one posted that the S/C have a true CAI. I dont know, The 08-09 have the same air box as the cobalt ls. just take the stock air box off and the headlight and put it in.
