: Header fittment test car needed -
Jason@Rage 09-06-2005, 01:20 PM We are located in So Cal and have made a few different headers for the non-supercharged cobalts. We have 2 cobalts inhouse but they are both automatics and would love to test these units on a 5 speed.
We need the car for 2 days and would do all the R&D ( of course ) then when the header is complete and ready for shipping you could if you wanted purchase it @ 50% of the list price w/free install.
Please let us know asap.

Also if anyone know of the differences in the SS we would lovew to test that header as well. Same offer -
SoCal Redline 09-06-2005, 01:26 PM I am very close to you guys. Have even bought some dress up stuff from you. I have an RL. I would love to know a few of the details for your header. Probably 4 to 1 right. Stainless or mild steel? Any type of coating?
PM me if you would like me to swing by.
Jason@Rage 09-06-2005, 01:46 PM Well if you can work what we need into your schedule - then yes we would like to use your car.
The test headers are always mild steel, since we change them so much until we get what we want. The the final unit will be made out of mild steel coated or stainless steel depending on the customer and what they want.
Let us know -
SoCal Redline 09-06-2005, 02:07 PM I will try to stop by this week. Maybe today. I think we could work something out.
Rocky 09-06-2005, 04:42 PM hey jason, are you at rage performance over there in on arrow and benson?

Jason@Rage 09-07-2005, 02:08 PM hey jason, are you at rage performance over there in on arrow and benson?
Yes thats us - on Benson and Arrow Hwy Unit J 909-608-7123
Well we have another version we would like to test so any takers ???? 2 days is alot to ask I know but we want this part to be the best it can be so we might need alittle time to adjust.
I can say that the first test went ok - 7 hp and 9 tq average.
Rocky 09-07-2005, 05:38 PM thats awesome! i wish i still lived there. i had my s10 dynoed there about 2 years ago i think you were there. its the one that kept barking the tires on the drums and it had to keep being strapped down tighter and tighter. i like your place there i used to live over there in upland. also my friend dynoed his 2002 camaro SS there right before me.
Jason@Rage 09-09-2005, 09:30 AM Ya i remember the S10 - thing was crazy between shifts.
Hey we still need a 5 speed no takers ???
We test the injen intake and doing the cold air today but on a AUTOMATIC
selfinfliction 09-09-2005, 09:41 AM that's not a very good deal. you get to bash a car for two days, and they only get 50% off the cost? and free install? installing a header on our cars with a decent person should take no more than 2 hours from start to finish. it's very accesible.
i think you should give whoever does it a completely free set...
Jason@Rage 09-09-2005, 10:11 AM Ok - your right we will just use the auomatic test and people can just keep in mind the small amount of trans slip. Its really only about a 5% difference, but we just wanted to test both ( 5speed/Automatic ) to compair.
We thought it was a good deal - guess not Thanks anyways guys

selfinfliction 09-09-2005, 11:02 AM i'd try to find one man... i don't think i've ever seen someone advertise automatic numbers... it's just you got people like tog giving away a free header for a fitment car. that's around $500... for free. that's how he got a test car near instantly after posting
Jason@Rage 09-09-2005, 12:26 PM TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THAT -
We cant give away stuff the cost of the R&D and material and labor is hard to take. We wanted to try and do something cool but can understand why u would feel that way.
We have 2 automatics here at the shop and have tested every which way possible. And just wanted to see the differences - you can see the headers we make on sites like -
AN-R.com / ProspeedRacing.com / D-series.org / EricsRacing.com if you want.
SoCal Redline 09-09-2005, 12:44 PM I am still trying to get over there with my RL. Like I said, we could probably work something out.
Do you have a deadline?
Jason@Rage 09-10-2005, 09:29 PM we did 2 days straight on the '06 cobalt ls and found good gains so far....tring to post it up
