It looks like it'll be kinda quick. The Focus is already know for its exceptional handling and now with it's new 220bhp turbocharged 5cyl. engine :eek: , this thing could really be a contender! Plus it still has the six-speed tranny.

the looks are pretty NICE imo... the srt-4 WAS ugly, then grew on me.. the SS looks like a civic imHo but i like it once i get beyond that...

Well I think it looks better but it still doesn't catch my eye like a Cobalt SS or a Neon SRT-4. IMO

i like the SRT-4 but when i had my tiburong GT V6 I beat it off the line and through 1st and 2nd gear and the end of 3rd he started catching back up with me, i mean i like them but i loved my tiburon, but i traded the tiburon off and now i'm gonna get a cobalt SS.

a lot of ppl dont like the tiburon.. i DO however, the V6 GT has a nice exhaust note once you swap in a larger one..

btw.. wut mods did you have to leave an srt-4 like that?.. or was HE a real bad driver?

all i had was AEM intake and HKS Dragger exhaust, and have a shift light on my tach really helped me, and a short throw shifter shipped straight from korea. and he seemed to be a pretty good driver, it was just a really hott day and my tires were hookin up great.

the car was just a freak because i was racing this 350 elcamino and i smoked him 3 times, not just once, 3 times and he pulled up next to me when the road ended and was like what to you got in that thing and i said just a V6, he said nice, it put a smile on my face.

did you ever take it to the track?.. if so, wut was your ET and Trap Speeds?

coBIZZLE..the Focus ST is turbo'd only in euro version. U.S. version sucks. 151hp. There are no current plans for a blown Focus in the states right now.

As said that is the Euro focus, the US version is still dead in the water. Why Ford doesn't bring it over is beyond me. Untill then ford still is absent in the game.

You MUST have had some sorta factory freak... If I recall correctly, they barely went over 170 hp (with a 2.7 L engine). I like the recent model's exterior though. :) I can't see you beating an SRT-4 with only those mods as I can beat an average Tiburon with a good driver but I'm still slower than an SRT-4 with a decent driver. But weird things happen. Yours must be a mutant. ;)

Yea, I've walked both types of Tiburon's and I've yet to go after an SRT-4, never see 'em. Had one behind me yesterday in the snow/rain, but neither of us were in the mood to die. By all accounts though, the best chace I have is to keep close to his bumper until the road gets curvy and braking is required. I mean, there is around a 30-40hp difference from my Redline to the V6 Tiburon. I don't know how good of a driver the person in the newer v6 tiburon was, but it wasn't much of a race past 40mph. I assume they were racing, they revvied at me, squeaked the tires pretty hard, and sounded like it was winding out. By second gear though I was at least a car length ahead and pulling away.

mazdaspeed 3 from what i have been hearing is going to have a detuned mazdaspeed 6 motor, which is a 2.3 liter turbo making 274h.p and 280lbs of torque. they are saying the motor will produces over 240 hp in the mazdaspeed 3. as for the price????? i have no idea but im sure it is going to be fairly expencive being that the mazda 3 s(2.3) fully loaded is 23,000 msrp. this is going to be one FAST car, but it will not be out for atleast another year.

That seems like alot of power for Mazda to put into a car that's not the RX-8. Wouldn't you be talking about a car that is almost, or just as fast, as the RX-8? I'd think Mazda would want to reserve the RX-8 as the king. Or is that thing getting a whole new package too? Why not just stick the RX-8 rotary into the other car, isn't that running in the mid 200's in the RX-8 trim?

238, but the other cars can have more power and still be slower as they weigh more, But also, the Mazda is also getting a mazdaspeed pakcage with a supercharger from last I herd.

im not sure if it is going to be the sedan or the hatchback or both. it does sound like alot of power for that car, and i dont know how htey would put it to the ground......AWD maybe?. im saw a post about the mazdaspeed 3 and tried to find some info on it and that is what i found. it will be a sweet car when it comes out even if they only put like 200hp in it. my girlfriend has one and its fun to drive, but it does need more power however i have never driven the S (2.3L).
