$37,000/yr but not in US dollars... :( It works out to $30,000-$31,000 USD I think. I work at General Electric. No, I don't sell/fix appliances/lightbulbs. :) Not going to get into details but we deal with GM a lot (SCADA and tracker systems).

I get accused of owning a car lot. There are a WHOLE bunch more people that make more $$ than an autoworker. But then, there are also a whole lot more that make less. That must be why we are blue-collar middle class working stiffs.

DANG!!! Jealous... Im not into ALL of those vehicles but I like ALOT of them and still, thats a LOT of assets. I bet you could get a loan w/o even askin LOL. And thats some good change for a yearly salary no matter what your doin.

I'm almost 21 and I have no idea what I'm gonna do for an actual career. But Im fixin to be a Mobile Electronics Certified Professional soon as I get to Memphis to take the test. Ive seen a study guide and all the stuff is super easy so I'll pass the test with ease, but within the year hopefully I'll be shootin for the MECP MASTER Certification ;) That should yield a nice lil pay raise. Right now its only 12.30 an hour, so thats $12.3x40hrs= $492 per week (w/out OT). So $492x52wks= only $25,584 yearly (before taxes). But Im still in school right now and my folks are payin for that, so I really dont need that much money RIGHT now. But like I said: hopefully I'll get a nice pay raise w/ the Master Cert.

Right now its only 12.30 an hour, so thats $12.3x40hrs= $492 per week (w/out OT). So $492x52wks= only $25,584 yearly (before taxes). A real easy QUICK way to figure this out. 40 HRS a week for 52 weeks is 2080 hours, so just multiply the job's hourly rate x 2080 to see the yearly total. A real quick way to figure out a job's yearly salary in your head is to do this:

ex. $12.30/hr x 2 = $24.60, add 3 decimals = $24,600 [ $24,600 + $984 = $25,584] 80 hours added back in.

ex. 9.50/hr x 2 x 1000 , (forget the 80 hours)
$19.00/hr add 3 zeros = $19,000

ex $17/hr x 2 = $34, add 3 zeros = $34,000

ex $23.77 x 2 = $47.54, add 3 zeros(actually, decimal point places) = $47,540

I'm not going to go into specifics, but I work for a communications company that provides cable tv, high speed internet, voip telephone, etc.
I make decent money for being 22 years old.

Also, I fix computers part time for $50/hr, sometimes business is great and I make over $1,000/wk, other times business is slow and I might make $150/wk.

The good part about that is I set my own schedule and determine my own days off (for the computer business).

Hmmmm, the Cleveland Plain Dealer just did a series of articles on abuse of police overtime and that is the kind of money that was mentioned. The just hired Chief of Police for Cleveland accepted a salary of $102,000 (city offered $120,000 but he suggested the lesser amount). My brother-in-law was a city cop for a Cleveland suburb (12 years) and pulled around $55K up until around3 years ago when cancer ended his career.

$100K for a regular cop must include a LOT or PERKS.:D
