first off it's a 2.0 but I wouldn't see why you couldn't do that. I mean, I've known people that stick chevy 350's into Datsun 510's. Anything's possible with the right amount of money but that one actually seems pretty feasable.

my dad is big on putting chevy small blocks in cars, right now whe have a 93 jaguar xjs with a lt4 out of a 1996 vette. over this summer we put a 95 vette moter(lt1) into a 1996 awd chevy blazer. almost any conversion is possible, its just finding a way to do it , and alot of fabrication. ive even seen a 350 in a 85 toyota supra, and ive also seen pictures of a few volvos with small blocks also. so im sure you could swap a 4 cyl for another 4 cyl.

Im going to try and work on the 2.0 SC into a solstice once they come out... 100 LBS lighter and RWD fun.

dude that would be a sweet conversion........considering that the car looks real sweet already, i just needs more power.

would be better to turbocharge the 2.4 eco that will come in the solstice,
bigger is better !

True but then you have to worry about compression ratios, custom manifolds, intake piping, etc etc. The 2.0 is designed for forced induction and I think its shorter stroke will let it rev easier. The 2.0SC is already a good all around engine to shove into it, plus I dont get the nasty turbo lag.

Althought the new supercharged Mazda speed RX8 engine would also be nice.

True but Id want the mazdaspeed 8, rotary power would be even more fun.

Some other things to consider. Will your transmission be compatible? For example, will the flywheel spin the same direction? Will it even be in aligned the same way? (for example FWD may have flywheel facing he left/right side of car while RWD may have it face the back of car) Will you need different motor mounts? What needs to be relocated?

Are you able to just use the supercharger itself?

Sorry but the 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 is making 274 hp @ 5500 rpm and 280 lb-ft @ 3300 rpm out of a 2.3 four cylinder. But the car has all-wheel drive

I think it would be bad as hell to swap a Supercharged SS 2.0L into a Chevy AVEO!!! :p

Imagine the looks on the SRT4 owners faces!

 "What do you got in that thing man?!?!"
:D "Oh you know just the basic performance mods!" - ;)
 "BULLSH!T"
:D "YEP!!! A whole truckload of it!!!"

Oh it would be great!!!!!!!

Unless he's already got an Ecotec, which I don't think he does, it would probably be easier to buy a whole motor and modify it, like one from a wrecked Cavi, to handle boost and all that good junk. It's always touchy to swap a new motor into an older car, especially when the new motor is so different from the old motor. I know they're both I4's, but I'm not sure the rest of it would match up, the tranny that you point out would be a great question. I swapped the T5 from a '92 Camaro into my '90 Camaro, because the 700R4 automatic that I had built before the V6 came out and the V8 went in, guess what? There's not way on earth to make a 700R4 from a V6 fit to the V8 that I had. They were both Chevy's, everything came from Camaros that were seperated by just a couple of years, but the V8 had a much wider angle than the V6 did between the cylinders. My dumb ass never had a clue. Like people said, anything can be made to fit. You'd probably have a much easier time, and cheaper, to buy a new car. You can get a used Redline soon, and in a year or two longer you can get a used Cobalt SS. I wish I would have bought a new Camaro with the V8 already in it, with the 5spd, and started with that. I would be up about $2000 right now, but this is the first 'nice, new' car I ever owned. So I'm keeping her till she dies from rust, and lemme tell ya, there are alot of replacement parts for a '90 Camaro.
