I'm heading out to the track on Friday (weather permitting) to establish a baseline before I start tuning this thing, and I was wondering what kind of RPMs you guys are launching at- even on the street anything over an easy roll-in on the throttle leaves me parked in a cloud of white smoke, and a clutch-in, idle, clutch-out, floor-it launch always has that nasty opportunity of creating the dreaded stall or at least a nasty bog if you're idling too low. Obviously, I don't want that to happen on my first showing at the strip, so I'm wondering if you guys have identified that sweat-spot on the throttle, and where I might find same. THX in advance for any replies. Peace.
I do it around four grand, to minimize wear, but still get a good launch.

What kind of time did you get launching it at 4000rpm?^^^I release the clutch and step on the gas. No need to get wheelspin from throwing the clutch. I get enough whellspin from stabbing the gas once I reach 3500rpm! When I throw the clutch it usely results in a 15.3. By using this technique, I net 14.7's pass after pass.

What you side step the clutch or you let up slowly? or do you do a quick trade cluth to gas from idle? I need to log in some more track time to practice my launches but no matter how i look at it a short first gear + a roots super charger + FWD = An F-ing nightmare when it comes to launcing.

I release the clutch at the 3rd yellow light on the tree. I release like I would in everyday driving just after the release I go to WOT. The next time I'm at the track I will step into the accelerator more gradually to see if it will improve my 60ft times by elimanating some of the topend wheelspin. Next track visit will be Oct.21, weather permitting.

What kinda 60ft's are you getting with your method and whats your 1/8 mile speeds? i usally slip the clutch for one fully tire rotation then go full throttle but on shitty track the end of my 1st gear breaks the tires lose than if i grab second gear to hard my right tire breaks loose. I probly have to rotate my tires because its always the same side that breaks loose.

I find 4000 to be the sweetspot, but that is on DR's @8psi...so I can't really help you there, I would just go with flooring it and see how it works for the street tires that way. Not too much off the line on those skinny things that's for sure. I hated that wheel spin...

8 psi!!?? or did you mean to type 18? Thats really low pressure.
On topic launch from idle, do not bring the revs up at all. I can cut 2.1's by doing it that way.
