I was interested in installing a wet nitrous setup with a smaller pulley. I heard that by spraying alone will give you added boost. So would the pulley just be a waste of money? Also, does anyone know for a FACT where to install the nozzle? Before or after the blower? Seems like every one I ask has a different answer. Anyone have N20 installed on there car? If so, what kind of kit, and how is it installed?

You sir, will burn up your clutch. When you start spraying N2O the shock to your drivetrain from the extra hp might be too much. Just ask 05YellowSS (I think that's his name).

a dry spray right before the throttle body is a little more safe. There are some traditional old farts here soo whet whet. But I would do one or the other, not both.

I think that 05YellowSS is spraying a 75 shot. I wouldn't go that big. Also, If I were having clutch problems, I would just upgrade the clutch. My main concern is the motor.

Yep, that's me, bye bye clutch, the motor is good for it, that's not the issue here, the new clutch is sitting in my garage, I just don't have the time right now, work is a nightmare, I was gonna do it this weekend, but then I got drunk :D

I figured the motor was good for it. What do you think about the pulley size? Stay stock or go smaller? Also, Where do you have your nozzle at? I keep getting suggestions from people that aren't even spraying nitrous.

Don't these motors have forged internals (or is it just the crank?) ? Why wouldn't it be able to handle a 75 shot?

i dont have a cobalt but im pretty sure that adding more boost makes it more likely to knock(not saying it will, but it will bring it closer to the threshold) and adding nitrous makes it more likely to knock(same way that more boost does)

doing both, and not having some way to retard the timing could result in some problems

but like i said, i dont have a cobalt, but when i put a 100 wet shot on my WRX with water injection, it knocked, i had to pull back like 3-4 degrees timing.

i think its a given that one should retard the timing when running nitrous, so i'm gonna say that more boost + nitrous with out retarding timing may be dangerous, on pump gas anyway

I think until ECU programming is available I wouldn't run n2o with a smaller pulley, I'm scared I'm not gonna lie. I really would like to see the ECU fully cracked, don't know how long it will take though, the crank is forged, the pistons are "coated", stronger than normal, not as strong as forged, but according to GM, and their LSJ building guide, a 75-shot with no timing retard will be ok, I believe that the ECU does that for us at the detection of knock...I'm not an expert though, just did some research, made some phone calls, and did my own trial and error, thus the fried clutch...

Poor little clutch.

BTW, must you remove the ENTIRE engine to get the new clutch in? It seemed to me there was some room around in the compartment, perhaps it can be done without removing the whole damn engine?

I shouldnt have to pull the motor, maybe move the trans around a bit, not sure yet, bout to find out I guess...

how many miles did you have befor you started to spray it.

I saw a SS with a TB plate by NX. Has anyone else seen it? It looked pretty cool. I will try to find the pics again to show you guys. I think I might run their kit with a 35 shot. I know it is small but I don't want such a huge jump without upgrading the new clutch. Cuz right know I just spent lots on the CAI, and a header from TOG. I think that I will also order the 3.0 from pulley tech.

Instead of running juice and a pulley, why not just spray it. If it's not fast enough(witch after a while it wont be) just up the shot. I'd start a 50 and work my way up. But, I too don't own a cobalt so this is just what I would do if I did lol.

Personally I'm considering putting a 50 shot on my srt-4, I'll only run it on race gas though 112 oct min. Once I build the motor with forged internals I'll up it to 100+ shot. But, I too have melted my stock clutch so I won't worry about that spray for a while.

I think less boost + spray > boost alone.

Thanks for the useful info. I will consider that. :)

Someone with more money than brains needs to blow a couple of these things up trying to get the most power out of it. Look at the srt word, steve anderson put down over 500 whp back in 03, and then blew a couple of motors I'm sure you've seen the vid of the yellow srt that blow's at the 1/8 and still runs as 12.8. The srt comunity gained alot from that. I bet it can take more than 75 shot, I'd want to try more like 125 shot and still be safe. You could probably push it further on race gas if you wanted. So someone try it already, everyone else will thank you later.

I'm sure we'll find out in time.

I know for a fact it can take a 75 shot, but the clutch can't, waiting on my stage 2 from gravana, hmm, I hate not being able to drive my baby... :(
