Hey everyone. New to the forum, and I'm going to school on the Cobalt/Solstice. My boy's got an SRT-4 he's building up, and we're fairly active in the racing scene. Well, I'm good and tired of sitting on the bench, so I'm hunting for the next prizefighting domestic. I've got tons of questions, but for now I'll try to keep it specific.
How does the 2.4L Ecotec in the Cobalt differ from the one in the Solstice? I suspect it's a configuration thing (like the 4g63 engine in 2nd generation Eclipses versus the one in Evos). That mean that someone's going to have to create parts just for that car?
Two (and more appropriate for this forum) how well does the stickied stock-1300hp guide relate to the 2.4L Eco? Is it too different to rely on that guide?
Last, what about the Hahn Racecraft kits they talk about at:
http://www.cobaltss.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1763
Would the 2.2L solution not apply to the 2.4L?
I guess the main thing I want to know is, if I wanted to build up a Cobalt that would eat the rice burners alive, which engine would I be better off with? Which would I have an easier time with shaving seconds off my 1320?
