: My supercharger stop working after 2k km !!!!
danR01 10-16-2005, 10:05 PM Im surprised that my supercharger stop working only after 2k km !!!! on my 2006 cobalt SS ???
Does anyone had the same problem, i will take it back to the dealer this week!

ExHondaMan 10-16-2005, 10:09 PM What exactly do you mean by... "it stopped working" ... ?
CobaltSSrt4 10-16-2005, 10:10 PM how does a supercharger stop working? must of got a lemon, bring that crap back to the dealer!
danR01 10-16-2005, 10:57 PM the supercharger doesn't work anymore, what can i say more! the turbo gauge is always at 0, no movement at all... its on guarantee right so...
05YELLOWSS 10-16-2005, 11:02 PM this is an interesting conversation...
h8beingbored 10-16-2005, 11:14 PM yeah... i really cant understand the guy... i bet your supercharger is working perfectly... just a hunch
05YELLOWSS 10-16-2005, 11:19 PM could it be a gauge issue? Pulley still spinning? No strange noises? No lockup? Sound like a wiring issue to me...guys what do you think?
dazednconfused75 10-16-2005, 11:19 PM I can't believe I'm posting in this thread.
Unless the belt is broken or the blower seized up which you would know (I would hope), your supercharger is working. You boost guage is most likely not working. If your supercharger stopped working the car would barely move.
00noma 10-16-2005, 11:20 PM did you stop to think your boost gauge may not be working? do you have a loss of power?
silverss 10-16-2005, 11:26 PM yea really, if it were me, i wouldve came on here screamin
  if he's right, which i doubt, this brings some concern
dazednconfused75 10-16-2005, 11:41 PM This guy can't be for real.
fleckenwhat 10-17-2005, 12:42 AM dude, check your windshield wipers. they are on the same fuse as the boost guage. my car was delivered from the factory missing the fuse, and when i went to put one in it fried the computer. do not waste your time or the dealerships until you have checked the fuse.
danR01 10-17-2005, 09:42 AM Hey guys, stop laughing at me please...
At first, i tought it was only the gauge meter, but i really have a BIG BIG lost in the power so how could i get that lost if ist not the fuck'innnn turbo.......
I don't know nothing about supercharger so ....
at least, i can afford to get a 30k car....
for sure i will let you know what was the prob., don't forget that the car only has 2k km ...
I can't believe it, i should have bought the SRT-4 for almost the same price !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Drewfu$ 10-17-2005, 10:55 AM Lol, this is good.
498Nova 10-17-2005, 11:22 AM Perhaps the bypass valve has failed or stuck open???
Ron
Perhaps the bypass valve has failed or stuck open???
Ron
That's what it sounds like to me. If the super broke, it would lock up, and the engine wouldn't turn over- that is catastrophic failure. bypass valve on the other hand would just vent all the boost and let the motor keep running. Good luck man.
CobaltGuy 10-17-2005, 12:32 PM you paided 30k for your cobalt sc/ss??.......I paid 18500!......with the employee rebates.

selfinfliction 10-17-2005, 01:53 PM maybe your blower troll stopped working? you should pull your blower off jump inside it and bolt yourself back to the engine block :D

danR01 10-17-2005, 05:44 PM This guy can't be for real.
whats wrong about trying to get help from you guys, i just ask a fuck'n question, im not a mechanic!! i don't know nothing about turbo, but for sure,
my car is really less powerful, i would even not race against a dodge neon...
wolfie 10-17-2005, 05:48 PM Just a thought........could it be in limp mode? Do you have any CEL lights on?
Rocky 10-17-2005, 06:03 PM  why do you keep saying turbo???
Permafried- 10-17-2005, 06:26 PM Your best bet would be to take it to your dealership and have them inspect the S/C and test the vaccuum seal in the engine without relying on the boost guage. I can't imagine the S/C has just stopped working (though it could be the blow-off valve failing) since it's turned by the belt-drive system.
Oh...you are using 91+ octane fuel and not 89 correct? If your timings are off you would notice a decrease in performance just from your fuel alone :).
Good luck, hope it all works out :).
Oh btw, quit pickin on the guy :). Living in Quebec English isn't his first language...and with that in consideration his spelling and grammar is pretty damn good if you ask me. I considered attempting to post in the French I remember but it would have probably made about as much sense to him as nothing ;).

87camaroPA 10-17-2005, 06:32 PM Please guys let him be and see you guys can help him out like he said he does not know very much about Supercharged cars so please post any helpful info if you got it.
Thanks
dazednconfused75 10-17-2005, 07:09 PM If you have a huge loss of power then you need to stop driving it and get it in to the dealership ASAP. It does sound like the valve got stuck because it does drive. It won't be that big of a deal to fix except for the fact that Chevy will probably change out the blower instead of fixing the valve. I think Eaton warranties the blower for 100,000 miles and they just slap a new one on instead of trying to fix it. You made it sound like your guage just wasn't working at first.

Bflaker 10-17-2005, 07:51 PM This is great. It seems like there is an abundance of funny threads today across all the tuner boards, (SRTforums, redline forums, here). Here is a link to a funny thread in the SRTforums:
http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187417
(It has nothing to do with the SS. Just read from the 1st post. Trust me its funny.)
Anyways. Back to the topic at hand. This guy is obviously an SRT4 Troll. Why else would he keep posting about it? Just ignore him or say something funny back. Other than that don't worry about him.

Mrmaasta 10-18-2005, 11:04 AM Damnit spelling. I looked at that for a good 5 mins too. :o
kelleyperformance 10-18-2005, 03:21 PM ok i am a performance mech. so i think i can help you. on my SS, i noticed that the PCM was opening and closing the s/c valve too much. so i put a boost controller for turbo, which is just a little valve, between the PCMs sensor and the valve. when i ran it on the dyno, it put out about 130 whp. obviously the s/c was being bypassed. so what i think is you have a PCM valve issue. however, the boost gauge should read below zero, even if it wasnt producing boost. that sounds like a dead sensor. hope this helped. if you want some more help just PM me.
