: drop in?

Hey guys.

I'm finally picking up my Cobalt SS n/a today. I'm going to the shop right afterwards. I replaced the filter on my Cadillac and my moms Mustang V6 with a drop in filter. Fram Air-Hog for the Cadillac, and a K&N for the Mustang. I noticed a slight gain in the Mustang. Obviously, you're not gonna gain a billion horsepower, or run 9's from adding an intake. But for the 2.4 (if anyone's tried yet), what's the best way to go about this? I plan on buying a full CAI in the spring...but until then i'd like to drop in a filter.

Thanks!!

If you plan on buying a CAI, don't waste your money on a drop-in filter. You'll only see negligable gains. Since you plan on buying a CAI in the spring, I wouldn't waste $40 on a K&N drop in. If you weren't planning on doing anything to the car then a drop-in would be fine, but don't waste your money. Put that $40 toward the CAI or a strut bar or something useful.

Alright. Then what's the best intake for the money? I had an AEM on my Accord and liked it alot. They obviously don't have that for the Cobalt.

I know K&N had one as well as Injen. Gravana Tuning has some things as well. Great website they have.

The 2.4L is a bit new as well. Give them some time and yourself time to save up and I am sure there will be some soon.

Actually AEM does have one out for the cobalt... Just search Google for it... I know there are also a few eBay stores that carry it!
