Hey guys whats up.

I have a Supercharged Grand Prix that runs in the high 12's. My mods are

3.0" pulley
stage 2 cam
105lb springs/retainers
Thrasher intake
TOG Headers
42.5lb injectors
2.5" exhaust
Custom race tranny (hardened input shaft/shift kit/2800 tq converter)
160*tstat
Custom Tune
Aluminum Motor Mounts
And a driver pulling off 1.9 60 ft's on street tires.

Anyways.. i got a buddy who JUSt got a cobalt SS..

and he says he just put on a 2.8" pully, intake, and exhaust.

My question is.... with that small of a pulley, does he see knock???

Our cars have a 3.8" pulley stock. the comparison would be me running a 3.1" with intake and exhaust which would net me 14*+ of knock retard = ENGINE BLOWING UP.

Do you guys need supportive mods to run that small of a pulley? Please enlighten me as i am dumbfounded by what he said.

Also, is it possible to make 265WHP with his 2.8", intake, and exhaust??

Thanks Guys.

nice car man

as for the knock, it's a good question. i think only a few people have gauges that read knock right now, so i couldn't give you an honest answer. but our oem pulleis are 3.4" or 3.35" something like that, so we're already 1/2" smaller than you on the start.

the 265whp... it's not going to happen unless he's got a generous dyno, not many cobalts have this done to them yet, but the redlines i think the most i've seen is like 250 something on a dynojet and that's with the $600 psi-fi piggyback, not just the pulley
