Well anyway this is my first post. I've been reading this forum for as long as I wanted my SS. I ordered it about 3 months ago, and finnally recieved delivery about 2 months ago. Got about 1300 miles on it now. It runs and rides great, I have no complaints at all, it's an absolute thrill to drive. I work at Hawthorne Chevrolet in the service deparment. I went to the dealership the other day and the new SS/SC came in and had the black Recaro seats. They look great, but I wasn't dissapointed yet because I wanted the matching inserts. Found out later that it came with a LSD. WOW was I upset. Nothing I can really do yet...don't have the money. Looking into doing the conversion this winter. Ill let you know how it goes when the time comes. Probably just going to buy the whole trans and swap it in. I have the tools and the lifts...but the time is the issue. Just thought I would say Hi. Oh and just to let you guys know, if you don't already, there is a 1 week old (used) Fujita intake up on Ebay right now its at 220. ;)

He's upset that he didn't get the LSD, and that he is thinking he'll install one this winter. He also saw a Fujita for sale on ebay for $220.

i think what hes sayin is that when he bought his car he wanted the matchin inserst on the seats so he ddint get the recaros but later found out that the recaros came w/ the LSD, so he is sayin that he has plans to go forth and put in the LSD, but my question to hjim is y wouldnt u want the recaros? imo, they look better and im sure that feel a lot better then the standard seats

Heh, thanks for explaining it. I guess the Recaro's are all a matter of preference. I just liked the blue on blue. I'm not saying the Recaro's aren't comfortable, but the ones I have are just fine.

Thats the only reason i didnt get the per. package is because i had my heart set on red and black leather. I wanted the lsd, but i only wanted the two-tone. So my final choice was to not get the per. package. It saved me about $1000.

I have the red and black insert seats. I found out after I bought my SS/SC that there was an option for the LSD with the Ricarro seats. The seats I can live without but I really want the LSD. Where could I find one and could I get it without the seats? Does anybody know?

well, you have a few options rather than buying a new car. I don't know if you've ever heard of the Phantom Grip LSD conversion. It's a cheap way of taking the trans that you have now and converting it to an lsd with just a few parts. How ever i'm not sure if it works on the ss/sc. Didn't really read up on it, just heard about it. Or you can buy the trans from the parts department at a dealership and do a "quick" swap.

im sure by the time you save the money up theyll have an upgrade.. aftermarket or oem..
