Ok guys here is the deal...

I am teaming with GM building a Cobalt SS for the IAS show in Atlantic City, and then another build for SEMA. I just got my order in yesterday for the car, thanks to you guys with the G85 Option!! Even my dealer was like, "What are you talking about"? It doesn't show up in there system!!

Anyway I am looking for a list of manufactures that you know of are making parts already..

They have one kit near development. Pulls 18lbs of boost out of the system instead of the standard 12. It's for the Ion Redline, but I would assume it's the same parts, etc.

K&N and AEM are both making intakes. Along with ScDyne who also makes a header for the car. Again, they come to our Redline forums, but i would assume it's all the same parts.

SSBC is making brakes already huh? That's great. Are they out yet? I'll go check on my own. Just so anyone who dosen't know will, this car will have GREAT brakes. The Redline stops from 80, 2 ft longer than a Lamborghini.

The biggest performance complaint we have is with inital traction, Quaife makes a LSD for the car as well. It's listed under the Saab 93, with the F35 transmission.

Psi-Fi has promised a 'twin-charger' kit, which would bolt a turbo charger on in front of the supercharger. Twincharger = Monster Boost!

That would be sick, but would you need a fully built motor to safely run all of that boost safely?

i think a "twin charger" kit is kinda rediculous :p .. build it up, add more boost!

A) I actually think the twincharger is a cool idea. Not neccesarily the MOST efficient thing in the world but cool none the less. Could however be efficient, I don't know, never had experience with a twin charger, INSTANT LOW END boost of a supercharger and the HIGHER RPM levels of boost from the turbo

B) I think they actually mean swapping the entire supercharger setup for an entire tubo setup.

It's pretty built. The rotating assembly is supposed to be good to 350-400 horsepower. They have an EVO somewhere running the system right now. I doubt it's something I would ever install, I also doubt I'd ever have the money. If I had just tons of cash laying around, had bought this car first, I'd throw it in there, just to be different if for no other reason. There are some good test reviews from GM about what they've done to the Ecotec, where it fails at stock, and what fails first. They had a pretty rediculous amount of boost in it, running at around 300ish horsepower before the stock head gasket went. They changed that, and ran near 400 before something else went. I can't remember what it was. I believe the stock rods are the weakest link at around a 400 hp limit.

So I guess it depends what 'all that boost' ends up being. If it's in the area of 20lbs, you can do it pretty safely, from what I'm reading. Beyond that, who knows, just depends on the specifics.

There are turbo kits for them already if I'm not mistaken, you can also buy the stock supercharger for just around $1,200! I think he was refering to the twincharger, although, taking the supercharger off and running a turbo would not be out of the question. The engine is already built to handle both, it comes in the Saab in turbo form, so it just depends on what you want. I'd never take the supercharger off for a turbo, waste of money. I'd but the turbo on as well, or make the supercharger better. I know alot of people are turbo fans, but it's all the same damn thing.

Hey Spooner, do you know where that article was, cause I'd like to know what I would have to replace before I jump the boost. I've been learnin stuff the hard way my whole life and I'm tired of it! LOL
