yikes... it's like a 15 piece design, and $240.... i can't wait until these intakes become a reasonable amount

When you look at this stuff, it becomes more and more aparent that it's not going to be hard to design my own.
This particular piece spends a lot of your money because of all the pieces and the fancy clamps.
On the other hand, there seems to be a rush to market with this stuff, they want your $$$$
Be patient.

anything is better than our stock set up
-the tubes are plastic
-the tubes arent smooth on the inside
-the filter is like a wall
- its not sucking in cold air b/c its in a box
-the box sucks through a small opening at the top

stock intake sucks

-plastic tubes conduct less heat than metal
-tubes are smooth inside
-any paper filter is more restrictive than a foam
-doesn't matter if it's in an airbox
-the small hole is about the most restrictive part of the box

why would the stock airbox not suck in cold air, and the cai suck it up if they are both physically located in the same area?

Our own cobalt ss has been running for 3 weeks at this time without any codes of any kind being thrown. HP gains are evident, but have not been dyno'd.

We are throwing more R&D into a better intake design, but realize that the issue lies in creating minute turbulance to achieve power gains and defeat CEL. Both of which our intake accomodates.

Thanks

i am very skeptical now bc i had mine on for 1500 miles before my first cel. im not putting it back on til after stage 2, hopefully thatll fix the problem.

I think a good thing is not to do anything till after you get a stage (my plan), but as for the intake they claim 18-22 hp with not CEL's. They havent dynoed yet but if no CEL's come up and the gains are actaully 18-22hp, that would be a great mod.
