so tonight i'm playing around a little and notice that in second gear i am pulling around 14 psi which i guessed was because of the nice cold weather or whatever, but when i hit third gear and max it out, it only goes to 12-12.5 before you see the needle bouncing around from the bypass valve actually opening.

has anyone seen this issue before? it's like my system isn't limiting boost in second, but is in third. i'm not sure about the other gears cause i didn't want to be driving that fast tonight.

i'm not even sure what would cause this, unless it's just a fault in the pcm

I think a lot of the boost gauges are not working right. I brought mine in to the dealership because it was only hitting 10psi and they said was th right psi I should be hitting BS. I have a buddy that has a SS and his gauge is hitting 13psi I think these gauges are carp period..

Selfinfiction : the car runs leaner in 2th gear than 3th gearm thus achieving easily more boost. Same thing in 4th gear, it's richer than 3th gear.

BizoCG : All SS's by-pass valve aren't set the same, since they are had set. You can't say you're gauge is crap until you verify it with a mechanical one.

so do you think the new exhaust is allowing for easier boost, and that's why it's hitting higher in second? i don't think it ever did that beforehand

yeah for right now. i might be re-redoing my entire exhaust with a full 3" from the header all the way back.... once i get the blower ported, smaller pully and stage flash

it's still doing the same thing. i won't be doing much else until i get my RSM clutch in, i figured i would go ahead and start building up the drivetrain to handle all the parts that are coming over the next couple of months
