Just bought an Intense Racing Modular Pulley system with a 2,6" pulley (129$ for the kit).

http://www.intense-racing.com/

2,7" and smaller pulleys requires machining of the supercharger's snout a bit.

I bought also an adjustable tensionner (85$) from Motorsports Machine (formerly Pulley Techologies) on E-Bay. It is also available from ZZPerformance for roughly 100 $.

Installation date is undetermined yet ...

There are several different systems out there now. Intense and ZZP share the same design and can also be used with 8-rib conversions on an L67. I'm not a big fan of Intense, since they have been plagued by scandal over the past year, but the MPS they sell is fine. We also introduced some MPS pullies that are 6-rib design, and are interchageable with other brands out there.

Machining the snout can be done at home, but the snout has to come off to do it. If and when the time comes I'll do a writeup on it. It's a simple procedure that anyone can do as long as you have a vise, and an angle grinder with the right attachment. Total finishing time is about 20 min. I've done several, and it's a piece of cake.

Hey Ron I didn't know you sell your kit for 99$, because I had bought it from you !

yeah rob, you should definitely do a writeup, i didn't even know it was possible to machine a snout by yourself...

jmc, you're scanning your car for KR correct? You need to get that thing to a track sometime, you may have the fastest one out if you're able to safely run that pulley :)

edit - and ron, the toolset on the wall in the background of the snout picture looks way too organized :p

Zero KR yet, I did some log also today. But here in Quebec City the temp is cold (about 30 to 35 farenheit degrees). On hotter temp (maybe 70 or more) I saw sometime about 1 degrees of KR at the most, if I can remember well, but my car wasn't tuned the same way.

About making a 1/4 mile pass, it's not even possible here because we have a lot of snow. But I want to make sure I will get the most TQ and HP I can before the summer.

My car now is putting down 222 WHP and 192 TQ on a mustang dyno in 4th gear, which equals roughly to 250 WHP and 216 WTQ on a Dynojet dyno (4th gear), or 265 SAE BHP and 230 SAE TQ.

The dyno we use show nearly a 20% drivetrain loss, I have been told that stock SRT-4 dynoed 190 WHP on this very dyno.

My guess for a quarter mile pass would be somewhere between 13.5 and 14 s @ somewhere between 100 and 105 MPH, depending on the traction. Also I am running the stock clutch at this moment; it already slip sometimes.

I know a couple of guys on these forums who makes a couple of more HP of their Cobalt SS/SC or Redlines ...

They had ONE issue with the GEN2 diffs. They made a mistake and are working to rectify it.

Lets not turn this into ANOTHER clubzzp  Keep your personal feelings to yourself please, thank you!

very nice! I'm really starting to like how these cars do with KR...in the gtp i can't even think about going to a smaller pulley than im at right now...get that car to the track next season (with a new clutch first of course ;) ) ...if a srt-4 dynoed 190 whp, why are you only expecting 13.5-14 seconds? shouldn't that put you in the low 13's neighborhood?

Intense and ZZP share the same design

The new INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System hub is cut from 15-5PH stainless steel; this choice in material achieves a superior finish. The hub is machined in two lathe operations, one end after the other, producing a fine finish on all surfaces. The hub bores are honed to finish size within .0003", then washed and packaged. Our pulleys are made from cold-drawn aluminum and cut to ANSI rib profile specifications, unlike most other systems on the market. This means that the belt will actually fit the pulley properly which equals significantly less belt slippage and wear and MORE BOOST!

Rob, I'm not out to bash them. That's why I didn't mention anything specific. I don't want the ClubGP atmosphere here either, don't worry. As far as Intense or ZZP's MPS, I meant they are similar in the fact that they are interchageable.

This was right after I put the drop ceiling in. The cords were cinched up since then, and I have 5000 watts of halogen lighting out there. It's my little smoking lounge...Just need to get the fridge hooked up now. If I didn't keep stuff where it belongs, I'd never find anything!

No it's not a tensionner pulley, it's an ajustable tensionner arm, so you can switch the tensionner arm height between three positions, thus permitting to ride with very smalls or bigger supercharger pulleys without even changing the tensionner pulley diameter.

Ron,
The tensioner on the Cobalt is a Hydraulic Ram that goes up and down. Does not pivot like the L67. I think an oversize pulley might work. Will investigate on monday.

would we have to put a new belt on there or does our cars automatically adjust to it

3.0is fine, 2.8 is iffy, some belt slip, need shorter belt for smaller pulley.

Just received my INTENSE MPS 2,6" pulley today. All I can say is wow for the look, the quality and the finish. Very TOP quality product, I still can't believe how light weight it is. Received also a free t-shirt with it. Stay tuned soon for the installation ...
