Same here I too am a srt4 owner that cant wait to see how well these cars perform. Its gonna be fun to see how well they respond to aftermarket parts for sure. I know my friend who is getting one already has 5k to spend soon as he buys it on whatever he wants. Its going to be interesting for sure.

Yes we have a meet this saturday and will let him know about these forums. I dunno if there is 5k in mods you can do, but he is going to try and call around to see if there are any reliable companys that wouldnt mind making a turbo kit for the car.

Another SRT Forums veteran here, and I personally love the Cobalt SS, I love the way this car looks, and the price is very good, it's actually 2K cheaper than the SRT4 in Canada :)

I dont think this srt - cobalt will be friends for long. It is the Cevy vs. Dodge. I love it. this happened in late 60's early 70's and now it is happening again in the 2000's an 'Era reborn'! it is going sweet... ford doesnt have a car in the sport compact class that will even compete.

lol so true.. I personally like this quote from SCC Mag. after test driving the cobalt SS "The much rowdier 230-hp Dodge Neon SRT-4 has the SS covered in every power production category(and it will be quicker across the board)"

It's good to see eveyone embracing a lil friendly rivalry between Srt and SS. Everyone has diff tastes in cars for whatever reasons but I have too say the domestics will be kickin some ass.

I would have bought a srt buy now if it wasnt for the interior...the exterior....the fact its a neon, thats about it. But honestly love the srt4's but I dont fit in the car comfortably. Im getting the Cobalt SS S/C because it looks great, its comfortable and it performs.

I have a feelin that we are goin to have to wait longer for the SS with the LSD and Recardos.

good idea, I had the oppurtunity to drive the car for 2 days and it sucked. Axel hop, unexpected body roll, shitty shifter and weird shifting. all around really didnt like the car. Havent drove the SS S/C yet but ill bet its 10 times better than the protege.
