Ok before I say anything about the car I beat here's all the facts he was stock accept for
an exhaust and he was automatic so he starts off low rev. we raced 6 times yeah 6
The first I won from (3rd gear)80-100 by 1 car length
Second I won from(3rd gear) 75-105 1/2car
Third he won from (3rd gear) 60-100 1/2 car
we chat I ask if it was auto and he says "yeah, it's STOCK" I ask if it's Turbo and he shows me two fingers and says "twin" then I said lets go again from 70 he points forward!
Fourth I won from (3rd gear) 70-110 3/4 car
we chat again he asks "what do you have done to it?" and I said STOCK I dont think he believed me though. Then I said from 50 and he nods.
Fifth he won from (3rd gear) 55-90 3/4 car
we slowed down again and I gave him a thumbs up he did the same and we went from 40 3 honks
Sixth Beep Beep Beep from (2nd gear) 40-115 I jumped ahead his front bumper at my rear all through second, and all through third he was at the back of my rear tire. I shift into fourth and by 110 I see his car coming up on me faster and faster, I said "god damn his turbo must have spooled or something" because he was pulling hard. Passing 110 my front bumper was at his door, and by 115 I was at his rear tire I stopped by 118 because of traffic in my lane. WOW that thing pulled pretty good once it got going but anything before that I hung right with him or if I started above 3900 RPM's I would beat him but only to 110 then he starts to pull. So to all the SRT-4's and Cobalts SS I encourage you to race one if it's auto because you'll beat him if you end the race before 100 mph. Anyway, I bet you're dying
to know what car I raced?!!!

Curb Weight: 3,568 lb (1,620 kg)
Transmission: 6-Speed Manual or 4-speed automatic
Type: Twin-Turbo Inline-6
Displacement: 2997 cc
Horsepower: 326 bhp @ 5,600 rpm
Torque: 325 lb-ft @ 4,600-5,000 rpm
Redline: 6,800 rpm

Still don't know Cause I didn't believe it either!
0-60 mph: 4.9 sec (manual I think)
0-100 mph: 11.8 sec (manual I think)
Quarter Mile: 13.6 sec @ 106 mph
It was Clean and it had the Wing it was a 98 Toyota Supra (auto)
So here's my question how the F#$%K did I beat this thing? and be gentle I'm not a liar. :D

Maybe his right foot was broken and he couldn't push down the gas all of the way......

If his foot was broken the first race, it is not going to heal itself by the 6th race. ;)

Well, take it that you're not lying I guess his car had lots of miles and some leaks.

Number wise you should not be able to pull him and yes, supras are damn fast after 100.

but Nice Kill and Congrats.

Thanks man but yeah it might have been falling a part but it looked clean then again most people don't take care of their engines still funny that I beat him though.

^^^ Indeed.

That still shows the potential of the Cobalt. imagine you add the Pulley,CAI, exhaust package now... :)

well a stock supra has been known to have a crappy powerband when they are modded right they are mean as hell

It could be a naturally asperated Supra.

it was a 98 Supra turbo it had the wing and the guy said it was and besides as hard as he started to pull at the start of 4th gear man that thing pulled and he wasn't done when I slowed down it just kept pulling, I stopped at 118 and he kept going for a bit!!!

Great job man! I believe you.

Check out this vid..

Cobalt SS vs Supra (http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=9EE920C6-AE00-423E-AD8E-596C4E03D9C9&term=cobalt&p=1)

Seems that it takes a while for those turbos to spool, once they do though, look out.

I can see a Cobalt SS/SC keeping up with an auto turbo Supra. Maybe he had a boost leak or high mileage. Nice kill though!

I believe you. That thing probably has 200,000 miles on it an the turbos are worn out bearings and not equal pressure any more. Stock I believe they were about three hundred horse at the wheels. Still a good kill though. IMO

at say ~3750lbs wet weight with driver, a stock supra aint that fast. especially when they have some miles on them.

Yeah see IMHO I think he had a shit load of miles and from what I've seen with nice cars the motors aren't exactly kept, loose bolts and probably a boost leak with the same old ass turbos that thing was probably dying, it did pull once during all 6 races though at the end after 110. He seemed kind of like an ass at first, and then the 3rd race he was pretty cool I think I had to earn his respect. Thanks though guys I wish I had my camera today too I'm pissed I was charging it. I'm going to buy a new battery this weekend so this kind of non-camera crap happens again though. it would be great to get it on video I would have gotten 5 of the races on video too had it been in the car.
oh man I gotta update my signature

There's no way I could keep track... I've probably run close to a 1000 passes down the local track by now. Nine times out of 10, I'd get the win light, but then that's easy when most of the cars that show up on street nights are 15 sec and slower.

How about this one... I know this guy.. not real well.. but we have run into him a few times at a local hang out spot...
http://www.hsvracing.com/~upload/TightAsAMug/HPD%20-%20Andrew.mov

The thing about supras... it could either have just over 200hp.. .or have 900hp...

This one in particular was running a T-78 Gerret Turbo i believe on the night he wanted to race a friend of mine on the highway... happen to be a stage 3 srt... decently mod'd... runs mid 12's on DR's... he knew that the supra was going to destroy him.. but it was for shits and giggles, nothing serious.. so they went out... and when they returned he told me the story that unfolded

They got down to about 30mph on the highway... which is mid 2nd gear in the srt... they hit it.. and the srt jumps to a car lead... my buddy is like "YES! I have a good jump on it"... he hits 3rd gear... and is pulling away... up to 1.5 maybe 2 lengths... and then he is about to hit 4th gear... when even from 2 cars lengths, he hears the supras T-78 finally spool up... and it was like the srt was up in reverse... the supra blows the doors off the srt. took a while.. but he did.

When they return to the lot we were hanging out in... the kid in the supra popped the hood and told us that he was just shy at that moment of either 800-900hp (i don't remember exactly now) was a nice enough kid... i think he has upgraded the turbo since then.

as for u'r kill... i wasn't there to say that it didn't happen... so good kill

didn't read any of the replys figured they were all bs this and that. car is 8-12yrs old pending on year. deff some where and tear on the motor and trans over the years. so figure mid 13s in its hay day and low 14s in a stock ss is a drivers race. specially being a auto. they suck alot of power and catching it from a roll means it has to shift down hopefully into the right gear. i believe it.

Man that thing isn't playing for me. But yeah the first time it was only a 20mph difference yeah thanks I have been search high and low looking for this guy so I can get him on film maybe I should leave to work earlier lol.
