: Too Old For An SS? Grow Up....or just enjoy?
Wondering what type of age ranges we have around? I've been looking and considering a SS the last week but keep coming back to one thing...saying to myself the SS might be to "young" for me. I don't want to be "that guy" if you know what I mean!?
So a pretty quick and simple question for you current or soon to be SS owner...how old?
87camaroPA 04-03-2005, 08:42 PM Well i dont think there is any age limit writen on anything so enjoy. I am 19 but will be 20 in July.
CoBIZZLE 04-03-2005, 09:41 PM Ill be buyin one!! And I'm 21 in June. Also there is a new SRT-4 guy (I think he said he was like 35) around here with is SRT runnin d@mn close to 10's if not IN the 10's now!!! And he said he'll probably be gettin an SS for a daily driver!! That's awesome! You're only as old as you feel man! Don't buy anything based on what other people will think of you!! Buy it for YOU!!!
speed05 04-03-2005, 10:03 PM 46........
CoBIZZLE 04-03-2005, 10:04 PM ^^^ You should vote on the pole ^^^
87camaroPA 04-04-2005, 07:13 PM Any way LOL J/K
nicholas 04-04-2005, 07:24 PM im only 16 and i want one but i think they apeal to allot of different age groups!!!
87camaroPA 04-04-2005, 09:26 PM Yeah deffinately the car appels to alot of age groups.
CoBIZZLE 04-04-2005, 10:36 PM The only drawback that usually pulls its appeal from the "older" crowd (sorry no offense- just lack of a better word) is the wing. Most of them like the more subtle spoilers of the muscle car days, and there is nothing wrong with that I like those too.
87camaroPA 04-04-2005, 10:38 PM Yeah i love the syleing of the 69 Camaro's they were in my opino was the best year.
CoBIZZLE 04-04-2005, 10:43 PM Yeah if I ever come up on a 69 SS Camaro I'll probably hand the Chevelle project over to my pops completely, right now its gonna be our project together.

I was in the same state of mind as you but then I just decided I really like this car and it's performance. Plus I'm looking at staying around the 20k range and the SS is right there. It's definetly a good car for the money! Anyway, I plan on getting one late this year in black of course. Just my opinion.
By the way I'm 31.
CoBIZZLE 04-08-2005, 11:02 AM Heck yeah black is an awesome color for a sports car!!
And that gives proof to what I said about only bein as old as you feel.
Aging is ineveitable growing up is not!! I know people my age (20-21) that already act like they are married with 4 kids and a station wagon and even though we are friends still, I cant stand to hang with them cuz they are just so boring! Seriously there are senior citizens that get out and can outdo many people half their age! Live long, live strong, but most importantly live young at heart!!!!
My folks say Im too old for this car and Im like IM 20!!!! What teenager do you know that can afford this on his own easily?!??! Other than a select few w/ awesome jobs and the others that their parents buy them everything they want!! This car is aimed generally higher than a teenager!
Lou92 04-08-2005, 11:24 AM I absolutely agree!!! Well said CoBIZZLE.
CoBIZZLE 04-08-2005, 11:31 AM Thank ya, Thank ya! lol ;)
brk_05 04-08-2005, 11:31 AM Definitely not marketed for a teenager. Besides them not being able to afford it, I don't think most 16-17 yo drivers are responsible enough to handle a car with that kind of power.
CoBIZZLE 04-08-2005, 11:33 AM Oh and just to enhance my point look at the poll on this thread!
There are more people over 30 that have bought or plannin to buy this car than teenagers! More power to em I say!
CoBIZZLE 04-08-2005, 11:37 AM Definitely not marketed for a teenager. Besides them not being able to afford it, I don't think most 16-17 yo drivers are responsible enough to handle a car with that kind of power.
Yeah exactly, I didnt think of that part but its very true, too many kids get released on cars they have no business driving. Theres a pic of a totaled SRT-4 on this forum somewhere. It was a girl that was (again spoiled rotten) WANTED a yellow neon, parents went to the lot, only yellow neon was the SRT-4 model, She wound up with it drivin too fast, lost it and over corrected! Flipped it! But I think she came out ok. And another girl in my area several yars ago: Dad bought her a brand new Z28, she wrecked it, He went back and bought her another JUST LIKE IT!!! She hit a tree off a corner two weeks later, sadly she didnt make it. But people should learn from things like this!

I do and don't agree becasue i know a few people who own cars like SRT-4's and VW R32's so they can hadle the power but some are given thouse cars so i dont know and i have a Camaro since i was 16 so i have gotten used to RWD and i love it but i need a FWD for the damn snow in my area and i wanted a ca that had some power but was good in snow or better than my Camaro.
phxSS 04-08-2005, 11:26 PM Neat to see people over 18 buying sport compacts. I'm only 26, and sometimes I even feel too old for these cars lol But they are cheap and fun
CoBIZZLE 04-08-2005, 11:43 PM Theres no way your too old! Even if you were twice your age.
Keep ridin!
CobaltSS 04-10-2005, 02:33 AM I'm 17 and im in damn love with the SS lol.
gniven 04-10-2005, 04:26 AM 29, I just got mine and it does not matter what age you are!!!!!
87camaroPA 04-10-2005, 07:43 AM Age should have nothing to do with what you drive.
dazednconfused75 04-10-2005, 07:49 AM Age should have nothing to do with what you drive.
To an extent.
87camaroPA 04-10-2005, 08:35 AM To an extent.
Yeah i know but you know what i mean if you older than 50 most likely you wont be driven a Cobalt SS.
CoBIZZLE 04-10-2005, 11:24 AM Well that and the FACT that grown men shouldn't drive cars like VW Beetles! LOL! Those are 16yr old girl cars LOL
