hey anyone know about the phase 5 cobalt GM built with 535 hp? i was just wondering if anyone knew exactly what had been done to get that much power. i find it incredable.

I dont know exactly but they got most of the power from a turbocharger.

yeah. on the 2.2. thats what one of my buddies was thinking about doing was getting the LS and turboing it. idk its a toss up i guess. im sticking with the SS personally.

There are a couple of companies already designing turbo systems to assist the S/C. Id like to have one of those. I just love the idea of twin charging!!!

I not sure if they are useing a regular Cobalt engine they may be useing a bored out version of the 2.0.

Gettin back to the topic: What ever happened to the Phase 5 Cobalt??? I heard a lil about it but it seemed to just disappear. Did they just build it and move on??? Are they not gonna do anything else to it?!?!?

hmmm... thats interesting, i havent heard about that either. that would pretty cool though but theyd probably rape you up the ass price wise for it, i mean a whole exhaust system isnt that expensive to have done afterwards anyhow. but if they did have some sort of performance package that would be kickass for sure.

Well, if it's anything like the SRT-4, here's what will happen w/ our SS's.

If you add an aftermarket exhaust to the SRT-4, the stock cpu will still limit the car to 250ft.lbs. It sort of "regulates" how much power you are allowed to have.

I've seen this first hand, buddy added a full 3" dual set-up to his SRT-4, dynoed it and still had the same amount of torque, and it wasn't just him who had the problem.

I hope the Cobalt isn't like that.

Well we can get a whole new reflash if thats the case cuz Im sure nobody will stand that for long! I want over 300 hp and near it at least in torque! Im not gonna settle for 200 ft/lbs!

Well i want more than 300 but i will see how things go because is i can afford it i will do all of the perfomance mods i can so i can go out and make some kids in my area cry when i kick there a$$.
