No not on this type of supercharger some else could explain further but it is just plain not posable for the supercharger that is on the Cobalt to have a blow off valve.

ok here goes: roots blowers, first off, are AFTER the throttle body, and the main reason for a BOV is to keep the stress off the TB and to keep from the turbo from trying to spool backwards. so yes, a BOV would be pointless, and if installed, do absolutly nothing. your friend must have a centrifical supercharger, which is basically a turbo with a pulley on it. looks very similar, and is before the TB. those make constant boost, and if using relativly high levels, needs a BOV. hope that helped :)

I was talkin to some local tuners and one guy with a MR2 had a roots blower and said we could get a HKS Bypass valve that actually makes some noise, if thats what you want? Just to clarify, ive never heard of this and thought he was full of crap. But if it does work then this is what you would need.

It would take a lot of work to make anything like that work since when the bypass valve opens there is still airflow, it just skips the supercharger and pretty much changes it from S/C to N/A.
