Rumors say that the Sky will come in around $23k, but will probably be more loaded in base form, also the engine should have more HP in base form.

At least, thats the rumor.

The base models come out this year with 2.4L 177HP RWD..2880 Lbs. Where in the GT versions will have turboed 2.0s running 253HP. At least thats what rumor I believe.

GM i heard they are trying to push Saturn so they can get doing because they are one of the weaker of companies that GM has. But i love the Sky it is such nice car and Saturn is starting to get on track in my option.

Well saturn has that non domestic/import image, so it attracks buyers who dont normall shop GM, thus they want to move it upmarket to try and make more sales/profit.

Witch is not a bad thing to do but it might take away the Saturns being realivly cheap cars to own.

I think in this case, the Sky is not going to be too much more if at all. I know the target was under 20K for the base model, and have a RedLine model available later on for somehthing like 22-24K. Imagine that car, with a 255(ish)HP turbo'd motor and rwd? That would be sick. What's funny is there are already parts in development for the base Sky and it's 2.4L engine, wait till that comes out. Let the modding and import bashing begin:D. I'm glad toyota did away with it's newer mr2, because I think it might have just become obsolete.

im a pontiac salesman in rochester ny, and im attending a ride and drive demo of the solstice as well as the new pontiac torrent. we get to drive em and everything so ill let ya kno how it is

yea ill let you kno how it is...i guess we get to drive it through a road course of something but i just plan on beatin the crap out of it...but thats friday so ill let you know

yesterday i went to the ride and drive, and after waiting all day i was finally able to get behind the wheel of a brand new solstice. they let us take them by ourselves for about 5 minutes, and i was pretty impressed by the vehicle. for 19995, it blows all comparable competition out of the water. its extremely sleak with nice lines and a well thought out interior and a good number of available options. as far as speed is concerned, it runs a 7.2 to sixty, which isnt too special, but the handling on it was stunning. it dramatically outhandles my ss, but it does have a wider wheelbase and is rwd. if any of you have considered a solstice i would back that 100%. feel free to ask me any questions about it as im sure im one of the only people who has actually gotten a chance to drive one so far
