Awesome addition. I usually don't like big wings, but for some reason the wing on the SS/SC and Redline I just really love.

I really like the body style of the SS straight, and that spoiler looks fantastic on it. Btw, I really like your yellow/black accents, and the black rims look a lot better in these newer photos.

Looks sweet. I'm assuming it has the same mounting pattern as you stock one did?

looks good! i like the way the wing looks with the wheels, makes the wheels like 10x better than they did. did you paint the wing yourself? also, about the s/c wheels... you could always get them and then paint them like you did with the 17's. the 18's will look better imo, and they have better stock rubber on them as far as i know.

wow i cant believe all the great comments im getting about my car...too bad im all show no go tho..ill have to work on that one...growing up all i had were junk yard cars with all power but no looks, like my 89 stang that was 8 diff. colors, bought it at a junk yard rebuilt the tranny and then the power adders began. it feels soo good to have everyone complimenting on my car.....im most deff. gonna paint the 18's when i get them...heading to virigina apr. 29th to trade off, but not decisive wheather to paint them all black or just the spokes...

dude ya got me jealous. The wing reminds me of the evo wings now with that connecting piece being plack. best cobalt i've seen yet.

Sick dude, just sick. :D

And as far as painting the rims, paint the spokes first, if you dont like it, paint the rest! I've seen SRT's with just the spokes painted and it looks good, and with the whole rim painted and it looked good. Play with it.

yea, if you can get just the spokes painted, i say at least try it out. that would look hot with the silver offsetting the black. isn't really hard to just paint the spokes on the stock rims though since there really isn't any sort of lip?

see i tried this first on my 17's but got frustrated cuz i couldnt decide if i wanted to paint the sides of the spokes black too or leave them silver, and then when i decided to paint them black and leave silver inbetween the spokes it was really really hard to tape them off cuz the spokes curve to the part between spokes so laying tape down exactly the same on every spoke was pretty hard...but ill give it a shot when i get the new rims.

keep the wheels you already have, as mentioned, they're a little smaller...and you won't hardly notice a difference if the sc wheels are on there painted black.

that looks very clean, I don't usually like the wing on the 2.2/2.4's, but I must admit, the yellow/black spoiler is definitely unique. Nice job!

edit - and to be honest, I hate the sc wheels, they're too big IMO...just my opinion though.

you know what...i might just keep em, i dunno...cuz i keep thinkin about the rotating mass being more, and not only that but 17's are better for road racing, and im a road racer kinda guy, not a big fan of the straight lines, but ill hit up the drag strip every now n then...but i like corners better. more of a challenge...i dont know we will see...ive got more time to think about it cuz the guy im trading with cant do the 29th like we had agreed on earlier this week so ive got some time to buy and think about it. i need more comments from you guys n girls and what you think i should do...keep em or get the 18's..im also worried about the 18's cuz they are going to lift my car back up. and i like my drop...the wheel gap will still be the same but as far as the bumper height goes it will be raised....let me know what you guys think

IMO, keep the 17's, the look better anyways, the 18's have too low of a profile tire for my taste. Ride will be better with the 17's, and performance will be less with the 18's. The only benefit of the 18's is the "bling" factor from what I can see. Otherwise, 17's are better, and your car looks great as it is

I had traded my ss 17's for the 18's and i', actually getting ready to order a set of lightweight 17's, 18's are just to damn heavy

Keep the 17's your car is hot the way it sits, and like me an annihilator said... and Brandon for that matter... 18's are heavier and will have a lot more rotating mass. Why do think the guy with the 18's wants YOUR 17's?? Chew on that thought for a while! Keep you wheels (IMO) Just my $0.02.

the lower the profile of tire you have the better for road racing. you want a stiff sidewall so that there is minimal flex and it will transmit to the ground faster. if you like to road race the 18's would probably be better wince they already have a lower profile tire. otherwise you'll need to drop the car and get lower profile tires on the 17's.

and to whoever said they're about to order lightweight 17's... good luck. i haven't seen a set of rims out for 5-110 bolt pattern that can be considered "light weight". maybe lighter than stock, but def not light weight.

RYCobaltSS
04-24-2006, 05:23 AM
not true of the sidewalls of the tire. if you have the smallest sidewall possible you will lose grip due to the fact the tire cannot flex it will just slide accross the asphalt, it has to be able to roll the sidewall a little in order to maintain traction. if the tire is too stiff youll lose traction.

Hey Rycobalt, were you in Huntersville yesterday, April 25? I think I saw your car on Gilead road headed west. I only saw your car for a second because I was at the redlight on the off ramp of I-77 south exit 23, and I saw you drive through the intersection there.

going that direction since im happy with the way it looks now. even tho it needs tint that can wait. like i said b4, all my life ive had shitty lookin cars and now i got one that looks badass. so now that im really happy with the way she looks im going to go for performance. starting with a spec stage one clutch n flywheel. then short throw, and then exhaust, im not going to do anything to the intake except put a k&n filter in it cuz its already cold air intake. just pull the pass. foglight and whammy, cold air. heres to hoping they get that turbo kit out soon cuz id love to hold of on the exhaust if they come out with it soon.

oh yea. thanks for stickin up for me big sis...(miltarywoman) lol...i was actually waitin for someone to call it rice, cuz it actually is with its show no go theme,(but i dont have all those 5hp stickers so technically its clean rice) but i wanted to set my car away from the others anyway i could. also note that i just saw a chick intown with a yellow ss non sc and im sooo sooo glad that i did all this stuff to make mine stand out from hers otherwise wed have the same car and that would piss me off royaly

like the rims, like the wheels, love the spoiler, now tint the windows, carbon fiber hood with scoop and TURBO! It will only get better from there. Oh, and the S/C bodykit is ordered already painted to match, complete with black inserts! ;)
