I want a 2.8" pulley.

anyone know where I can get one for the least money? I dont need it to have a hub. it can be a one piece pulley. I dont plan on taking it off ever or change sizes from time to time.

If you have one on your car and may change to a different pulley, you can let me know. I may then buy your old 2.8" pulley.

Thanks

Well I ordered my pulley. there is three places I know of where you can get one. I chose Cobalt Addiction. they are not the cheapest but I like their pulley the best. for $70.00 you cant go wrong. I now another local here and he has one. It is lighter than the stock pully due to being aluminum vs. steel. It is also stamped 77.9MM, Bonus for those worried about the dealer and warranty.

Yeah I'm still torn between the CA and pulley boys. Let me know how that CA holds up for you. Being aluminum is there any long term issues that we know about? Let me know if you get any dyno numbers out of it and if you go with any exhaust/header/downpipe mods. Are you going to run with stock spark plugs or are you going to run with a range or two colder iridiums?

by looking at the stage 2 pulley and 2.8 pulley, can u tell the difference? because if it looks the same, it would probally be covered under my warrenty still?

No I am not selling but I am tempted to sell my GMS2 but no one in the US will be interested. Cost difference and cross border might be a pain.

A local has been running it hard for the summer and has had no issues. it is a quality piece. Stock plugs are ran as far as I know but the local around here has a wideband and HPtumers on his car. he says dont go past 6200RPM as the injector cycle is at 80% at that point. when using a retune with HP tuners you can recalibrate the Fuel/Air mixture so it is 11.9%. this brings the duty cycle down to 86% which is not great but it is liveable.

any CANADIANS interested in a very limited used stage 2 can PM me. it makes the car a 13second car. see my signature for times and check out vids at my Cardoman.com

You would have to be looking closely and pull out calipers to measure it. I think it would go undedected.

I wonder if using one stage colder plugs would allow it to run hard all the way to at least 6500 maybe upto the 6750/7000 I can run it now.

I also may go the build book route and try for valvesprings, cams, pistons ect.. We will see.

Typo *80% should be 90%

The problem is that some of the suggestions you made will increase air or the engine ability to breath. and this increases the need for more fuel. the injectors are almost maxed as it is and they could go static and lean out at higher RPM than 6200. to counter act that you need more fuel and in this case a larger set of injectors are in order or you lean out the fuel map and put less demand on the fuel injectors to provide fuel. BUt when leaning out you need a good mix to retain power and not cause engine damage from detonation.

Fyi,
I know its not just a pulley by itself, but just wanted to announce that MP has an interchangeable hub system with pulleys in stock between 2.8 - 3.25 and we have extra pulleys AND the NGK colder range plugs in stock.

Check out our website.

If we can be of any help just give us a call !

Are the NGK Iridium IX plugs with BKR6EIX-11 1 or 2 ranges colder than stock?

Check out this post guys. Let me know what you think. I want to boost this thing up but I also want factory reliability. That's why I went GM stage 2. Maybe I just need to open it up with a CAI and let some of the gasses out with a header, catback and downpipe. If only I had the money to experiment and then get it right. ;-)

It won't work if you have a GM hub. You will need a new hub to run that pulley.

I see your mods in your siggy....off note question.....did you need to run colder plugs with that and how is the a/f ration going with it. Are the 42 lb injectors enough for the pulley size?

The 42 lbs injectors are a perfect fit for this application. I was running about 11.0-1 to 12-1 at higher rpm. Also im running the 1 step colder plugs from ngk. I would like to hit 7000 rpm but i dont have a tune. Im saveing money for a supercharger swap so untill then this is what im running. Also these are lucas injectors not GM. So the flow rate is better then GM. Im going to swap out for a 2.7 inch with is why i was offering.

So will the GM injectors handle the 2.8 Pulley?
