We finally got the Chevelle Wednesday! Right before church. Ive been so busy I havent even got pics yet. What with finals, work, etc. I'll try to get some today (Friday). Good news is we finally got it and its gonna need a lotta work, bad news is we dont think its a "TRUE" SS... and its gonna need a lotta work. 87 you're gonna haveta help me w/ those pics like I said. Holla back at me! Ended up we are gonna pay the guy about a grand for it BUT when my pops wires his shop, he'll be repayed in full and then some! ;)

what makes you think its not a real ss?
My friend quite a few years ago got a deal like that... guy sold him a "chevelle ss".... my friend was young didn't really know the difference.
It had all the ss badging but it had bench seat, column shifter, other details I forget at the moment.....found out a few years later the guy had a chop shop and did this sort of thing all the time and jsut tried to find the right sucker to bite the hook. He got caught though so now it's all just a fairy tale.
Either way... hope you can get some pics of the car up soon.

Sorry man had to work earlier today and when I got off I had to take Carrie out cause today (Saturday 30th) was our first anniversary since we've been datin. I have to work two shifts tommorow w/ about a 4 hr break in between MIGHT be able to get some pics then.

I a post you just sroll down wile your posting and find were it says ATTACH FILES. and click MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and find the pics and upload each pic.

Yeah thats one reason we aren't sure it is a REAL SS or not. THe dash has the rectangular guages and the SS's are supposed to have circular guages BUT it is installed somewhat "shabbily" (<---I made that word up, hehe) So we are guessin that maybe somebody swapped the dash before for some apparent reason????

Is that the orignal color?

If you look at the pic of the rear and look just above the fender, you can see a very slightly darker blue area. This is where the paint is chippin off and thats whats underneath. Im not sure if that was a base coat, primer or what. Im not sure if the darker would be the original color or not cause I am pretty sure they would have sanded all the paint off to repaint it. I'm guessin the original color IS light blue, not sure if it is the original paint job or not though.

Who knows really what the color was. But uf you do some research about how to read VIN codes they will tell you the model and color and it will tall you other things about the car.

Car looks cool! Granted not cherry, but half the fun is working on them. I used to have a '69 Chevelle SS 396 w/ a 4spd. Was the L78 version (396/375hp) and had the buildsheet, too bad it didn't have the original engine :(
