pretty dead night driving around at like 1:30 in the morning coming home from a friends house and saw behind me a orange srt-4 which i no for a fact wasnt modded at all slowed down and waited for the guy to get the green light to catch up to me and ask him if he wanted to run em on green and we both decided to wait till the upcoming street because of the possibilitys of cops... just driving in first to about 3 to 4 rpms and he started to hit where i was already behind because he decided to go ahead but in the end me and him both were side by side both slowing down at the same time... went from prolly a 22 mph roll to about 3 gear going about 85 mph...haha never raced a srt-4 and really wasnt a fair race cuz i knew i would stomped a whole in that ass from a dig haha but o well...funny thing is his shift knob came off when he was shifting which was his excuse for me and him being that close haha...kinda upset though because hes getting his mopar stage 1 haha but i guess ill just get my stage 2 with my 3 inch pulley...haha fun night wish i had it on videotape

well considering that i have driven a srt and not raced one was a thrill in itself haha especially me keeping up there with him after he was talking so much crap...to much adrenaline running to my body and when i got home i just saw the bed haha so yah i was gonna be tired

actually me and this guy had some issues before we raced because we were both the sunburst orange color so he was pissed that i was in town with his only orange srt 4 and my only orange cobalt ss/sc so he was talking mad shit about how much faster his car was

But yah after all that commotion i was driving home and saw him behind me to where i slowed down to 25 mph to let him catch up on our main street thats only 40 mph

After he caught up i got in the next lane so i could be next to him and we both let er rip not going from a dig but from more of a roll and it was pretty even back and forth my second gained on him a little but it wasnt much at all

But yah after shuttin down after about 90 mph at about a quarter mile we both stopped at the gas station to have some words and get numbers so we can race again.....

Fun night though

I owned a SRT-4 and I would say the SSSC is a little slower feeling stock vs stock. Once I installed the stage 1 and the AGP waste gate the car was completely different. I will let you know what I think once I start modding this car.

umm yah you must of raced some sxt with a srt 4 on the trunk because i can tell you rite now the only gear our car is faster in is first and maybe 2nd but once they hit third their call pulls....so basically you raced a shitty driver...cuz i no for damn sure im a good driver not trying to be cocky thats not my intentions at all... just saying

i've test driven a srt4 before i got my cobalt. All i can say is wow. I even lifted off the ground scaring the hell out of the salesman. that 250# torque makes a lot of difference. Idk! when i recall that test drive and comparing it with my stage 2, seems to me that the srt still feels much better on the butt dyno. just my .02 cents

Not at all man. The 1st and 2nd gears are Cobalt grounds. After that, 3rd and 4th I'd say belong to the SRT.

From a dig the Cobalt's will have an advantage because they have lower torque which = less tendency to lose traction. More power doesn't always = faster times. I bet you they could muster up a quicker 60' than we could stock for stock.. granted it would take equal very talented drivers.
