Went to the races with my new car. only 400 miles on her. My friend thought they were slow because he saw a ss non sc run. Any way I starting by racing my friend in his 2006 gti 2.0T we started at 20mph because i dont have the lsd tranny so he had me intill 3rd gear the i ended up having about 3/4 car langth on him at the end.

Then some dude in his 99 Civic Si Supercharged wanted to race. So I got him on the lunch and held him by a car untill about 100 and then i had more. hahaha

The last car that wanted to race was a lightly moded Grand Prix GTP. he said he had an intake header exhaust setup so i said i would race him. We lanched and he had a 1/2 car on me but when i hit 2nd I had about 2 cars on him and by 3rd it was over. I had about a bus or so on him.

So needless to say im so happy about my new car. And cant wait to start the moding.

Dang man, way to hand out the pain. You beat three cars before your car was even broke in, now THATS an accomplishment. I wish i could say the same about my race history......i'm 0 for 1........

You went from 20 because why?

What and where are these races that you speak of that let you go from a roll? If it's on the street (Which it is) then be a little more specific, thanx.

Anyway, good job.

Not so sure about beating a modded GTP by a buslength. If he had only I/H/E and no smaller pulley, thats a waste of supporting mods, but it shouldnt be that slow.

The gtp really did lose by a lot not sure about the bus but i could see he was way behind. I dont now if he`s a good tuner or not thats just the way it went down. as for the 20mph roll is because he i my friend and we were on the way home from somewhere when he wanted to know if it was fast or not.

and gtp`s are not very fast without supercharger mods or ecu mods.
next time i will bring the video camera to the street races so we can laugh about it.

Just because you dont have a LSD doesnt mean you have to roll race. LSD is for autocrossing thats really it, secondly just because you dont have LSD doesnt mean all the power is just going to one wheel, i have left two big black marks with my cobalt and i dont have it.

The GTP what year was it? If an older one that i can understand the bus length but a new one it sounds like he might have given up on you or was just bullshitting you completly.

I race my lil ol Red car from a dig alot, it doesn't have a LSD...

The pontiac was around 98 or 99 but i ran him twice and pulled hard with two different drivers. Besides we are supposed to route for cobalts here.

The LSD thing. let me explain somthing about the drag racing and lsd. My friends gtri has an lsd and he will luanch on me and have a car in first gear.

when power is transfered equally like in a lsd tranny the traction is equel to the amount of traction avalible in both tires not one. it doesnt matter how equel the half shafts are. Lets say you have dirt under one tire. all you power is only avalible at that tire not your other, untill that tire has traction. just like if you did a burnout in the water with one tire spinning ( without turning the wheel). also the lsd will help wheel hop a bit by not transfering power one way or the other. just strait equel! next time you go out racing, race someone how knows how to drive and as a lsd diff. you will lode in first gear if everthing else is equel. You dont see open diffs in drag racing do you? thats for good reason. :o

Yes in fact you do see open diff's in drag racing, my red car cuts 1.86's without a LSD, and the car makes big power. Learn how to launch a non LSD car properly, it isnt hard, then you won't have to avoid a dig race with the excuse of not having a LSD...

Sorry my friend i dont think having an LSD has any affect on drag racing i have seen plently of old school 10 sec muscle cars without it and they run tens, if thats not enough i have seen 10 sec hondas without LSD. Watch that show pinks sometime theres alot of badass cars on there without LSD.

As i said i dont have LSD and i have no problems racing people with LSD. I raced a 98 GTP before and his was tuned and had a smaller pulley i think, didnt really move that fast and i let him get a car and a half or two on me because i wanted to see how fast i could catch him.

I would love to see a 10 sec car that has an open diff. he would put alot of power to one wheel and then hit a wall. you cannot expect to pick up the front wheels on an open diff. the same with fwd. if you have ever seen a 10 sec honda run then you know what would happen if he were to supply a lot of power to one wheel such as a broken axle. all he will see is the wall and a busted car. it doesnt make any sence to argue about it if you have never seen the compared difference in you car then you will never know.

sorry i brought it up it seems dumb to argue.

I've yet to break a axel with well over 100 track runs....

None the less, no reason to avoid dig type street race because you don't have a LSD.

lsd, or no lsd...it sounds like it's just a matter of opinion. my fiero doesn't have lsd, my cobalt does. this is just a matter of the driver and how they drive the car. if you don't know how to drive, then i can undertand roll racing. if you prctice launching you'll get used to no lsd and have some good dig's.

I just raced my friend that way. i raced the civic and the gtp from a dig. and won against both. And just for an update my friend in his gti lost to that same supercharged civic from a dig :D

Launching isn't that hard without the LSD, just keep at it and it will feel like butter.

I started a pretty lengthy thread in the "cobalt vs all" section but just so you know it was a slightly modded 2000 Camaro SS.

the thing with gtps is you have to do a lot of research on them before you start modding or you are wasting your time... for instance if you throw a 3.4" or smaller pulley on one with no supporting mods, you will have so much knock retard and your timing will be killed and in the end you'll be pushing less boost and less hp... And two months later when you drop a cylinder or two, you will know why...

now with that being said, for someone who has read up or knows what they are doing, they can turn some heads and hurt some feelings with very few mods, and the day you run up on a turbo l67 or l32, is the day you say "what in the hell was that?"...
