Like I said good news. The Cobalt SS S/C's are now at Newton chev. in Chattanooga, Tn. Now I have a better chance at getting one. If they don't have them with the LSD package then I'll just wait for a lil longer. And can anyone that has a Cobalt SS tell me how much you had to pay.

good bye 04 Cavalier

Hello 05 (or 06 :D ) Cobalt SS

Well if you were to place an order in for a Cobalt SS you could order one with the LSD anf the Recaro seats. BTW the package does not show up on chevys site but it does show up if you go to vehix.com.

Hello 05 (or 06 :D ) Cobalt SS

After everything was said and done on ours, 24,??? This is with the free sunroff and xm radio we receivedf or preordering ours. We also bought gap insurance, and a 10 year 100,000 warranty. Dont forget about the $1000 hot button money and if you are close to ATL, dealerships are offering $500 autoshow cash from a coupon you could have picked up at the local car show here.

Sweet, I didnt even know they offered a 10yr, 100,000 mile warranty! Not that Im interested in a warranty, cause I'll be voidin it anyways! LOL But thats awesome for your everyday driver. Bout time Chevy offered a sweet deal like that!

I am not sure the warranty is through GM I beleive it is through a third party that covers the same thing GM Does. It picks up after the 5 year 60000 mile GM warranty....so i really got an extra 5 years 40000 mile coverage. either way i asked the manager there if they covered afterarket add-ons and he told me (and called to make sure) that they do cover any GM performance parts.

Working at a Chev dealership, I know how hard it is to get your hands on a SS. They are being produced slowly out of the build plant. All of ours have sold before they come onto the lot, we have a back order on them. This is usually what happens when Chev builds a winner, they seem to take their sweet time getting them into the hands of the people that want them.

If anyone in Canada, or even Winnipeg, wants to order one, e-mail me and I will let you know the fastest way of doing so. :)

I'm probably going to wait until the 06' drop and buy a 05' when all the rebates hit them... I should pay the Trans Am off in March of next year, which will be pretty good timing, they will be desperate to get rid of the 05s by then...

Oh and word of advise, go with GM Performance Parts... You pay a little more for them but the quality and the fact that your warranty isn't void makes it worth it in the long run...

Its not really that much more either, an example would be when my fuel pump went out on my car... None of the parts stores(Auto Zone, etc) here had one in stock for a LS1 Trans Am, special ordering was going to take like 1-2 weeks, I didn't have that kind of time... I called the Pontiac dealership that day, they received it the next morning and I only payed around $50 more...
