Yes, as the screenname says, i work in the car business as one of the sales managers at Chevy store. I'm not gonna put up which one just because I'm used to the many sites that prefer to keep non sponsors off the boards, and I agree.

Anyways, I'm coming over just to research what is all available for the cars modification wise right now and to see what improvements have been made. The dyno numbers I saw posted were amazing especially with the GM rating. Then again, I'm used to that with my '99 Z28 that did 312rwhp stock on the 305hp rating.

I'm a big drag racer and was looking to possibly pick up a new Cobalt SS. Got my Malibu Maxx as a dealer vehicle/demo, and then the 99Z currently. Need something "inbetween".

The '99 Z:
382 Agostino Racing Engines All Bore LS1
242/250 612/619 112LSA cam
Kook's 1 7/8 Long Tube Headers
True Duals
Moser 9" w 4.30's currently and a spool
TH350 w/ transbrake
will be getting lots of spray this year

Last year was just a N/A year and some shakedown runs before ripping the studs right out of the axle. It was also a 6speed at the time.

Anyways, hoping to do something serious with the Cobalt SS as well. So now that I've blabbed on and on about this, I'll just say the site looks awesome!

Hahaha, when you are friends with one of the guys that helps out at the track, and he throws together a gathering, you know the track is REALLY well prepped. After that I got out and almost got ripped out of my shoes!! Was a 1.46 60ft the pass before that, launching at about 6000rpm. That launch was at 6800rpm. Didn't register the 60ft, hahaha.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Found out my payments on the SS are gonna be 219/month with the minivan trade in i have currently sitting around. Just got to wait for the black one to arrive!!

Thats not a bad payment at all! Especially for a new vehicle!! You have any idea what your insurance rates will be??

Actually, insurance for the Cobalt SS w/ $100 deduct. and then my Z28 full coverage ends up being about 175/month. So I guess not too bad at all.

I really wish we had an Arrival Blue one coming in. Would prefer that, but I think we have 3 yellow ones, and 3 black ones for what we ordered.

it's common to break the stock 10bolt rear end in these cars. i have an "indestructible" 9" Ford w/ a spool, HH large spline axles and aftermarket ARP studs. had to step up to a 5/8" stud just to keep this from happening again, haha

Oh sweet!! I think that's Heiser. I've actually been taken out to lunch by the VP of the Heiser group asking me to come work for them. It's entertaining to say the least. My buddy has a black Z28 works as a tech at Heiser.
