Last night I got off of work at 2am MST and went to go find Video and his friend since he wasn't answering his phone. Anyways, I find him at a Chevron. Revved my engine so that he would hear the sc as I went by. I immediately turn around, go back to the Chevron, and pull up on his left side just as he was about to leave. So there we are. A red and a silver ss/sc parked side by side. Well, as we are sitting there talking some guy comes up and asks us if we want to race his 95 BMW M3 that had an s/c. He even wanted to put $100 up on the race. We decline. Then his friend with an Alero asks us if we want to race him. He also puts $100 up for the race, but wouldn't let us look under the hood. We decline. They just kept up at it. So, Video looks over at me and says lets go, and we leave. Well, we're cruising down State St. just minding our business when we come up to what looked like an 80's VW hatchback badged as a GTI that was painted yellow with a fart can muffler and a passenger. As we are cruising Video goes to the right of him, I go to the left, this way we can pass him since he's going slower than the posted speed limit. So are we, but not that slow. Anyways, we hear him drop a gear and floor it. And at that moment we both did the same. I dropped from 4th to 2nd. It was hilarious, he was being passed by not 1, but 2 SS/SC's at the same time who were equal distance to each other. I wish I had pics. After I got to the end of second I let off since 60 is fast enough and upshifted, as did Video. He comes up inbetween us and does it again. Same result. We did this like 2 or 3 times. This guy just couldn't get a clue that he was no match. Finally he was gone, and I have no idea where he went. He must have been that fast. Right after this we see some people we know at another Chevron that we just passed, so we immediately turn around and meet up with them.

Why do they try? It's almost embarrassing to even put in the effort to beat them.

that was a ginster yellow MKIII (mid 90's) VW GTI with a 2.0L & 8 valves of fury, and a mean fart can. Those 2.0's are oh so slow. Poor Poor 2point slow

those cars are a joke in a straight line..but believe me, i used to own one--they handle like a go-kart on a twisty track. kinda wish i had mine back. :P

Yeah, they are just like go carts. but slow ones!
