: 2.7" or 2.6"???
silverss 07-18-2006, 12:33 AM Which pulley should I buy, i dont want to start breaking shit
My current mods are GM Stage 2 with ZZP Hub
Intake
NGK BKR7E's
so i obviously have the 42lb.hr injectors, but can the 42's handle the 2.6 and will the stage tune be sufficient.
Reason, i know the 2.7 will be alright, the 2.6 idk
a 2.6 inch pulley at 7000 rpms would but the blower speed at 16,154 rpms. from what i've gathered the redline of the eaton m62 is 16,000 INSTANTANEOUS rpms before it self destructs.
a 2.7 inch pulley at 7000 rpms puts the blower at 15,556 rpms. still under 16,000.
for that reason, i would go with the 2.7 for longevity purposes. or even a 2.8 if you plan on keeping this car for a while.
silverss 07-18-2006, 12:51 AM planning to keep the 3" all the time
only gonna use the 2.6 for a night when i want to run some1. then then the 2,6 waits for the next race, so it wont be on the car all the time..........decisions decisions....im waiting to buy, maybe i should sleep on it
CoBIZZLE 07-18-2006, 12:57 AM I think I have heard of a very few people run 2.5's... But IDK for sure, I haven't heard anyone having probs w/ the 2.6s though....
silverss 07-18-2006, 01:06 AM yeea i havent heard of any problems beacuse of too small of a pulley yet, reason being is because only time will tell.......

i've only seen 2.6 and smaller pulley's on non gm staged cars. meaning cars with a 6500 rpms rev limit not 7000 like his.
i wouldn't even chance a 2.6 with that 7k rpm limit. a 16,000 INSTANTANEOUS redline means at that rpm the blower will self destruct. now i'm sure eaton has some leway, but why chance it? i'd run a 2.7 to stay on the safe side. do you really want to be the first person to blow the supercharger?
AlphaJaguar5 07-18-2006, 01:29 AM Dude, NOONE I've ever seen has blown a blower yet, no pun intended. And I know people running a 2.5" with a 7500rpm redline. If you want power go for it. And seriously if you want REALLY good advice go to the www.redlineforums.com or if you wanna slightly better site than this go to cobaltss . net. The redline forums is where most guys do stuff first and you'll get good sound advice as long as you dont ask us which intake is the best... Then we'll kill you and hang your car off a bridge by its tailpipe :D

all i was stating was what eaton has provided.
also, about *************, most of the people who are on this site are on here because there is too much bs and bickering on the .net site. and as good as rlforums are, most of it is still rl specific. thanks for chiming in though, got any links?
silverss 07-18-2006, 03:52 PM <<going to run the 2.6"
on a stage tune. not going to daily drive it, just when i need it and at night so my IAT's stay lower, me being in FL...im going to run around with the 3" daily though.....what would happen if i put 60lb injectors in?? im sure it would run nice for the 2.6, but for the 3"?????
silverss 07-19-2006, 08:41 PM anyone???
do i really need 60lb injectors for the 2.6??
ive heard that theSTG 2 42lb'ers are good up until a 2.6"
i guess ill need an interceptor to see for sure.....
i've heard that the stage 2 injectors are basically maxed out rinning a 2.8 inch pulley OR 2.7 inch pulley. you may run lean with a 2.6 inch pulley and those injectors. and if you switch out to bigger injectors you'll need to tune the car again which means more $$$ and it would also mean you wasted your money on a stage kit.
