how many of you guys are in the 12s ? if you are , what are your mods? i looked in the time slip thread and didnt see much. the reason i'm asking is that since i got my SS, i've heard from a bunch of ppl that SS/SC Cobalts arent good for anything out of the 13s. does the stage 2 setup get you close? i dont know if i plan on doing that to mine, since its my DD and i have another car that i play/race, but i find it hard to believe that these things cant be made fast. keep in mind, i'm new to the community, so go easy on me.:cool:

As of right now, i am unaware of any street legal SS/SC that can hit 12's. But there are gobs of videos of RL's and SS/SC hitting 13.3 and even a couple 13.2's. But i beleive they are on drag radials. However, the Cobalt is still in its infancy and anything is possible given enough time and aftermarket support.

But remember, people pay big bucks to buy cars capable of hitting 12's reliably right out the box (at least 32K). So keep in mind that your car is a FWD sport compact that cost about 20K.

Either way, anyone who says that a 13 second quarter-mile is slow for a lightly modded 20K car that is still under warranty is....a.......douchebag!!

ya, i didnt come across anyone really in the timeslip post. i figured there would be a few. my WS6 is a mid 12s car and it feels faster, obviously, but just quick little blasts around town and on the interstate make me think that the SS's have alot of potential. i realize the aftermarket needs a chance to develop, but i wasnt sure how deep into the 13s the stage 2 and bolt-ons were gettin you guys. w/o a doubt, the performance of the SS is amazing for 20k. i think the quality of the car is very impressive aswell. i know the srt4 is its main competition and there are tons of fast srt's out there, so with that brings some haters, it seems.

Probably one reason your Trans Am feels faster is because being a rear wheel drive car, it 'pushes' you off the line. The Balt pulls you off the line. Weight transfer can make you feel, and even perform differently. Believe me, I have a Camaro, and the "kick in the ass" feels great, especially when you line up to a rice burner. Just like Landonelf said, the car is still in infancy, being only 05 the first year of public production. Have fun building your beast!

what is a intense stage 3 kit, not looked it up yet can some one please elaborate the different stages and what comes with em? im ordering my stage 2 kit for 600 even tommorrow, hehehe=hp but gettin it put on for 275 is that too high???
