Dude, I talked to the local tire performance shop owner that deals with us, and he said that the azenis are the cream of the crop for traction! Thats what I'm going with when I need new tires. Id like to find some extra rims to put them on since I will use them for autocrossing and stuff.

my buddies got azenis on his 95 civic gsr with no lsd and his tires are so sticky it eliminates torque steer, even though our cars have a much better suspension than the civic, i couldnt tell cause the tires stuck to the ground that much

There was a WRX at the last auto-x I went to and the tires he had were so sticky you could hear the pebbles kicking up on the car. (I think they were Hoosiers) I dont want them that sticky though, so thats why I will go with the same choice as you.

the stock rims are only 7 inches wide, a 235 tire would be pushing it.

i didnt know that, thanks for the info, i had 18x8's on my DSM with 225/40 and always wanted to try 235, 225 should fit good right?

i have 225's on my 7.5 inch wide rims and they fit perfectly, i suppose you could stretch 225's over a 7 inch rim.

yea, i just caught that. our stock tires are 215's perfect for a 7 inch rim. the srt-4's had 205's on them stock. you could definately fit 225's on the stock rims though there would probably be a bit of sidewall bulge.

yep, 215's.

I went with the Pirelli P-Zero Nero's. They definitely grip better than the Rosso's That came on my car, but they still break loose on cold, dry asphault. I went with them because they were recommended by my tire shop. I think I'll try what was recommended above next time. How are those tires comapred to the Rosso's for summer driving?

chevy didn't put 205's on there, they are 215's. i upgraded to some 225/45/18's and when i turn sharp i get a tad of wheel rub. nothing to worry about cause it just barely touches the splashgaurd and nothing else.

i don't think i would go with 235's cause that's pushing the limit of tire distortion.

235/40r18's will not rub, i've had them on my car for about 3 months now without any issues. i was looking at how much space there still is & want to run 245/40r18's so i ordered the azenis... but dam, it looks like those things run bigger than normal sizing... i will be test fitting them hopefully later next week. i just need to wait for some 18x7.5 to come in. im gonna roll with i think some MKW M71 in gun metal since i deal with them!
