Well, i guess it's just as the title says ! I bought and got a new Spec stage 1 clutch two weeks ago. Had it installed with my stock flywheel that was turned (Re- surfaced ) and i babied the car for just over 1100 km ( about 900-1000 miles ) . Then i decidied it was time to test out the clutch. I took it up in 1st gear to abot 3000rpm floored it and shifted at about 6400rpm and all i got was TOTALL clutch slippage. To the piont the car started slowing dowm in second with the gas to the floor and the rpms bouncing off the redline . So i threw the clutch back to the floor and putted along slowly home ! My car is bone stock other then an ingalls TD . I dont get it at all. this clutch BRAND NEW slips more then the stock one did. My car has 25000 km on it ( maybe 20,000 miles ) . The only thing that wasnt replaced was my slave cylinder cause the shop said it was not need with a car with so few km !! Im so mad at this clutch and or car ! I spend good money ( $1400 CDN ) and its absolute garbage. Can anyone give me any good advice please ! Thanks very much for your time !

I had the same problem, then somewhere on this site I read that you need to shift it over 3000 rpms ( I did this for a week around town) when I went to the track and I ran 8 times and everytime the 1/2 shift was great. the result was a loud chirp!!! (very hard shift) I know this sounds wierd but it worked for me and what I've read it works for other people on this site also. Try it and if that doesn't work take it back and let them trouble shoot it.

I thought they were recommending a Spec stage 2 or above clutch for an SS/SC--Stage 3+ if you have GMPP Stage 3 or higher. I could be wrong though.
TurboBuick: you have a Grand National?? I'd give both my testes for one of those. I've had two 1971 Buick Skylarks, a 1972 Buick Skylark, and currently have a 1970 Buick Skylark (the most powerful and torquey of those three model years).

I LOVE my Buick. It's pretty rough, but that's why they call em projects, right? Only paid 1200 for her. Got a 4-door this time around cause I have a newborn son. Goal is to drop in a 455. :) Only reason I'd ever sell it is if I came across an old GSX. Good on ya, GN's are hard to find these days.

the clutch has to have heat in it to really bite if you shift under 3000 you build up a film hence the slipping.

i thought it was said that the stock flywheel is junk and prone to warping and that an aftermarket flywheel should always be done when upgrading the clutch.
