Hey, I am picking up my SS on Wednesday and I only have one problem with it. It is black and I do not like the gold bowtie that sticks out like a sore thumb in the front grille. It looks ok on other color SS' but I do not like it on the black... Does anyone know of any aftermarket aluminum ones or even plastic ones that I could get for it? Any help would be great, thanks!

I don't like the bowtie on anly color. I've been thinking of painting them the body color.

Try and fine an SS emblem to fit there, that would look sharp.

i took that ugly bowtie off of the back mine with no replacement. i was thinking about taking the little bowtie off of my old cavalier and putting that on just painting it a different color. but i think im going to leave it blank. so theres a suggestion.. the cavalier one.. and paint it red or something.. lol

I actually think that the front emblem would look good removed as well with a full billet grille goin across w/ a matching grille for the lower fascia.

What do you guys think yay or nay?

the one on my front grill was loose (stripped) so i just removed it.. doesnt look that bad actually...except the three damn little holes in the plastic, might just leave it (looks good at night) lol

That is what I had in my 95 s-10 show truck. I had the grille painted black to match the truck, had the billit grille inserts, and had a billit bowtie in the front with headlight blackouts. It looked very clean!! I am more into the clean look rather than the wild look!

how easy is this to get off? What do you use to keep from scratching / damaging your paint?

is there a way to take a badge off, and just move it somewhere else without ruining the sticky crap on the back of it?

I doubt it, but one good way to get it off your paint is Goo Gone. It'll loosen up the residue and it cant eat through the clear coat. My friend used a spray foam type form of Dynamat and got it on his paint (this stuff was sticky as hell) and it took it right off no problem, it was actually CarBizzles (<= my girlfriend just signed up) cousin LOL :D

hair dryer.
warm it up, and sloooowly remove the emblem.
what ever residue is left, use goo gone as cobizzle said. :)

me and my boyfriend used dental floss... but it broke.. then we found the string to the car cover and used that to yank it off

What exactly does the Bowties have to do with performance? is that like with the whole thing that ricers think stickers make there cars faster? Nah im just messin with ya man, if you dont like it then thats all the matters.

This is all a mater of opinion, but personally i like the look of the gold bowtie on the grill. However, the rear bowtie is a bit ugly, but i think the trunk looks "bare" and incomplete with it taken of...just my opinion.

i painted bold bowties black... and debadged the rest of the rear end... there are plenty of pics here

be warned, its an LS, not an SS... but you'll get the idea.

Not too shabby. I think that I will be removing the rear emblem as for the front one iam going to try and find an SS logo to stick in there.

can anyone say carbon fibre? i'd seen a step by step on how to remove the gold emblem, and replace it with a piece of carbon fibre. looked badass. anyone else see it? it was in some forum... not much of a help, but you had to cut the carbon fibre to fit where the bowtie came off. and the harder part being, you have to have a roll of carbon fibre.. at a total loss of where to get that.

i dont like the gold on my black car either. so i took the bowtie off, seperated the chrome part from the gold part, and removed the gold paint from the back of the gold part. then i painted in black. so now i have a 3D black bowtie with a chrome outline. if you would like to have a pair made, email me with your body color.

i just installed a few emblem mods to my car today, and i will take pics tommorrow. i painted the front emblem from behind(black) and the rear is not in yet. i took off the SS emblems on the sides and relocated them to the front fenders, also removed the "supercharged" logos underneath them.
