SS4ME 06-23-2005, 08:39 PM Nice car!! Did you race the SS yet. I am very interested of the outcome. I never had the privelage to race one yet. Hoping to soon. I almost bought the Type-S but opted for the SS because it was s/c.

hey what's up. no, i haven't raced an SS yet. my co-worker has a cobalt but it's just the LS. :( i'm very interested in the outcome as well. should be one good race.
CoBIZZLE 06-23-2005, 08:53 PM NICE car man!! I like it a lot! You take those photos yourself, if so you're an artist with your camera! And as far as the racin goes, the Type-S isnt too far behind the SS stock for stock and from what I hear those Hondatas do WONDERS for the Honda engines with basic boltons, which you have an intake so I say it would be an extremely good race! Definitely say it would come down to the better driver, I would say that actually (to an extent) if they were both stock. Welcome aboard!!
Chris

thanks for the compliments. :) for the record as much as i would love to say i took those pics, i did not. two guys from my hometown took these pics. they do awesome work. i see you know about hondata. ;) yeah, it does wonders for the k20a2 engine. gives me an extra 1300rpms in the power band. dc race header and greddy evo2 exhaust is next for my to do list so i can open up the engine a lil more. stock for stock the SS will take the S but it will be a drivers race if the S has hondata, intake, race header, exhaust. :D
SS4ME 06-23-2005, 09:03 PM Do you have to murder the clutch on the Type-S to get it to go fast? I raced a Honda S2000 and beat him pretty good. I did not think it would turn out that way, but I could tell he put little clutch into it out of the hole! For the SS that is the way I have to drive if I'm to get any traction in 1st gear. Not hating, just interested in the differance in driving technique between s/c cars and variable valve timing cars. I know the torque bands are quit different.

my clutch grabs nicely for being stock. nice kill on the S2000 but i think that guy can't drive it right if you beat him as bad as you say. not hating though. i usually launch at 2,500-3,000rpms. if you're not getting traction on first i think you need to upgrade your tires. what kind of tires come stock w/ the SS?
SS4ME 06-23-2005, 09:12 PM They come with Pirrelli P/Zero's. It chews the tires up too easily!

i have toyo proxes4 on mine right now. they are a major upgrade to the shitty stock michillens i had on there before. :p
h8beingbored 06-24-2005, 01:37 AM very nice... i am a big fan of acura and their line-up, especially the rsx... get some pics up of your co-workers ss!
CoBIZZLE 06-25-2005, 02:31 AM Nah he said it was just a base Cobalt. But what the hey, tell him to supercharge it and then yall go race! LOL

sorry, but she only has the LS coupe. she wanted the SS but no cali dealers had the blue one so she settled w/ the LS.

haha, she already tried to race me on the hwy. it wasn't a pretty picture. i told her to get the SS but she couldn't wait for it cuz she needed a car right away so she opted for the LS coupe.

hookdupdelsol 06-30-2005, 02:29 PM I would love to know what type of Camera you used for those pictures? I am kind of into photography somewhat and I really like your pics! Looks like the contrast is turned up alot or are you using a polarized lens?
hookdupdelsol 06-30-2005, 02:31 PM Also, VERY VERRRRY NICE CAR! I love it through and through. Kind of makes me question my decision to get a Protege5...
JDMCivic 06-30-2005, 02:36 PM What Hondata did you use? My friend is looking into it but wasn't sure which to get.

i'm sorry, but i didn't take the pictures. two guys in my hometown took the pics. i am not sure what cameras where used but they had like 4 different kinds and used them according to what angle they were shooting. very cool guys.
DC52NV 06-30-2005, 02:49 PM Also, VERY VERRRRY NICE CAR! I love it through and through. Kind of makes me question my decision to get a Protege5...
thanks for the kind words. i was actually looking at getting a protege5. i love how they look.
DC52NV 06-30-2005, 02:50 PM What Hondata did you use? My friend is looking into it but wasn't sure which to get.
if money is not an option tell him to get hondata k-pro. i just have the reflash #4. gives me an additional 1300 rpms in vtec. :D my redline is at 8600rpms.
Figured I'd stop by real quick to say WELCOME!!!
NICE CAR, too!!!

The K-pro is too much for him though. He isn't a huge tuner. He's more of an i/h/e and he's happy kinda guy. The adjustability is too much.
I reccommended Hondata's normal K series reflash. Is that any good?

yeah, that's what i got. it's called reflash #4. vtec kicks in at 5200rpms and ends at 8600rpms. it's the best way to go if you're just going to add i/h/e. i will have to upgrade mine to k-pro once i add toda in my engine. ;) but for now reflash is doing just fine. :)
hookdupdelsol 06-30-2005, 03:15 PM Well, whoever took those pics did an excellent job, but I have come to realize one thing with photography.
In order to make a picture look great, you must have all the right settings and equipment, but most of all, you must have a nice subject to take a picture of. And they had an excellent subject for that Photoshoot!
You get a lot of thumbs up from me!
superchevy22 06-30-2005, 11:44 PM i'll be honest i dont like imports, but your acura dont look to bad and from the sound of it its fast and getting faster all the time. good luck
