Hey guys, just getting into the whole cobalt scene and actually picking up one in about 2 weeks. Its black on black.. I have a question, its under warranty and i found a nice stage 2 kit off my buddy who totalled his and would sell me his stage 2 for cheap, but could this still be placed under my warranty if i had the dealer install it or do i need to buy from dealer?

Their is a code for the GM reflash that comes with both the stage 1 and 2 kits , once it has been used it is permanently attached to the VIN # of the car it was originally installed on .You can't just but the reflash , they will make you buy a new kit .

The flash is the same for stage 1 and 2 so you could but stage one for less money and then install the pulley , hub and belt from your buddies kit. It will save you around 200 bucks or so.

steal his pcm, and then you could use the kit. keep yours around, so that if you have to do any warranty work, you could just swap the pcm's and you'd be set.
