I dont know much about cars, but I know I am dying to have a Cobalt SS, everytime I go to the chevrolet dealer, they tell me to come back in a month, its happened twice already , whats goin on???? :mad:

The Cobalt SS was produced after the sedan, so its taking longer for them to hit dealers.

im deciding on what to get right now, leaning towards the cobalt over the srt because i get the gm discount o_O

Does anyone know when for sure the Cobalt SS will hit the dealers because i should have the money all to getter to get one around end of Feb and i dont want to spent the money else where

Well i was at the dealer 2 months ago, he told me to come back in a month , so i waited 2 months..just went back the other day, he said maybe in march because it is on restriction, my boyfriend is gonna talk to a friend of his whos dad has a dealership, Ive never ever had a car, im goin to start working just to get this car, i want it so bad :p

Did they say what kind of restriction? O well i got to wait untill i get my money at the end of the month then i will either resrve one or wait untill they are in stock.

But they haven't started making the SS yet.


But in all Honesty that is they best thing for us. I work for GM on an Assembly line.

When you start a new product you have a slow start up to learn the new job that you are on. New job that you are unfamiliar with the more mistakes possible. We would have a rampup speed till you get to full production. At Full Production we are able to make the products at a smooth pace and we are more familiar with the job so parts are put on with ease and better Quality.

I am guessing that in a couple of weeks that they will start making the SS and then give it a month until it hits the showroom.

I have guessed March for the longest time but it could look like that it can be April/May

I talked to my local dealer today, you have to order one for the first couple months of 05', Im ordering mine in about a week.

Mine's ordered. They say the car could be here anywhere between the end of this month, or the end of next month.

I can't wait!

The mistake was the Honda Element, not when you bought it.

I visited two of our local dealerships last week. They both said that the Cobalt SS wouldn't be out until about mid-June. I hope that they are wrong!

Yeah, me too. I think that is a bit excessive. Maybe they mean the non pre-ordered cars will be that long away? who knows?

I can agree with that, Iv had dealers tell me all sorts of wacky nonsence. That the GTO is only available in the Automatic untill later in the year, that the Cadillac sixteen is going to be produced, etc etc.

Sometimes dealers just don't know jack about any thing they just sell the car and they know absoulutly nothing they are so dumb sometimes.

If they push it back to june/july.. I hope it's a 2006 model!

SUX! I live in Jersey and havin my Cobalt SS for the Jersey shore this summer would be NICE! Yea my 01 Z24 is supercharged and all, but the SS is a far nice and strong vehicle.

Yeah is does because i wanted the option to and i cant wait because my car has soom very high miles. And i dont think my car will make it til fall.

Yeah i know what ur saying becuase Chevy needs to get there crap strait and get the reaslese dates up to date so we the consumers can figure out when we should look to be getting a car so i am pissed but i might not get one wiht the option o might just get one then just drive it for a wile then go back and trade it in for a new one with LSD in a year or so. :confused:

Glad to hear I'm not the only getting pissed off. This is ridicolus. They were suppose to come out in the fall. Then the Sedans started coming out in Dec/Jan, when do we expect the coupes? June/July? I could of gotten a hella of a good deal on a Vibe GT, but decided to go with the SS. AAAARRRRGGGG!!!!
