auto tranny, checking fluid?

I have an 06 SS with the 2.4 and it had the automatic tranny in it when I bought it..... now, for some reason, no matter how much I have looked, I can't find a transmission dipstick.... all the owners manual says is there's no need to check the fluid unless a leak is suspected..... yes, wonderful idea there..... anyhow, I was jsut curious..... am I retarded/blind, or is there no dipstick.... if so, how the hell could I put fluid in if necessary.... I have never owned a car that didn't have a dipstick....

I have sort of the same issue, only I have started seeing a couple of small leakage drops on my driveway in the mornings, but I can not tell where they are originating. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know what the common leak points are on an '06 automatic with the 2.4, SS?

The 06 2.4....The bastard child with the 4T45E Transmission. I loved that car. I had one myself. Here's what you do. Take 4 jackstands. Put the car on a somewhat level surface jack the car up and make sure all the jackstands are even height. Pull the plug on the right side of the transmission above the pan. (there is no dipstick. This is the check/fill plug on that transmission.) Start the car. if a little stream of fluid comes out then you got plenty of fluid. The more common areas that those transmissions leak is the Torque converter and the pan. The pan gasket is more prone to leaks than the torque converter. Hope this helps.
