Change brake light bulb?

I feal like a complete idiot not knowing how to change a brake light on a 05 cobalt. I only work on pre 70's so new cars are not part of my world so if anyone can laugh at me and let me know how to get to the bulb and change it that would be nice. I have all of the carpet pealed back and all I see behind the tail light in the trunk is a lot of steel. So I am cunfused.

You have to pull the entire lens out of the car. There are 3 plastic wing nuts on the lens which you can reach once the carpet is pulled back. Once the lens is out the removal of the light bulb is easy with a twist. It is the new modular style bulb not the old style.

Good Luck
