sunroof blowing fuses

almost a week ago i got my windows tinted. when i dropped my car off at the shop, i left my sunroof cracked a little. when i got my car back, it was closed.
i didnt think anything of it... the next day i went to go open it an it wouldnt open. didnt make a noise or anything. checked the fuse an it was blown. put in a new one an it blew that one too. so i uped to a 15amp fuse an blew that one. even unplugged the switch an still was blowning fuses.

im just looking to see if anyone might know off hand or had this problem with their sunroof blowing fuses. was told maybe a bad ground wire or a wire is pinched... any an all advice is welcome. thanks in advance!

I would definately go back and have a talk with that tint shop... Does sound like a short overloading the fuse and causing it to pop, which is a good thing actually, as this avoids a electrical meltdown of some sort...

sounds like a bad ground could be the problem try going with a 40 fuse and if it still blows take the ride to the dealership if it still under warranty

ARE YOU KIDDING ME A 40 AMP FUSE!!! if it pops using the stock fuse you definitely know there is a problem already dont need to use anything bigger than the stock fuse!!! usually the stock fuse is about 1 - 3 amps more than what the circuit needs. please dont do that to the beautiful cobalt.

Well look if the fuse is popping you need to look for a shorting ground. I am a ASE certified mechanic. Trust me, I know that you should not put anything bigger unless you run new wires that are going to SUPPORT the new voltage/amps. yes you can get away using 5 amps more (done it my self) but just be cautious about it since now you just raised the time it takes to stop the wires from smoking!!
