boost gage or super????
Here's the deal- either my boost gage is wonky or the super's got a vacuum leak. At WOT, pulling 6k RPMs, it's only showing 10 lbs of boost. Everything I've read says these guys run 12, and when a buddy of mine dynoed his Redline it showed 12.5.
So what I would like to know from you guys is- what is your max VACUUM reading. If my gage is just mis-calibrated, I should be showing more vacuum at idle and less boost at top end. At idle mine shows 20 lbs of vacuum.
I've got an appointment to get it looked at on Monday, but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm going to hear. I'm afraid it's a bad seal in the super, though because it's been running a little rich (not officially- I haven't gotten an A/F gage yet- but the exhaust pipe is BLACK, heavy, heavy soot, so it's running rich somewhere in the range).
