My car is in limp mode and has crankshaft position sensor on

Looking for some help on how to fix this because I’m tired of my car being slow and preforming so poor. It’s a 2007 cobalt ss (2.4L)Awhile back I managed to entirely mangle a connecting rod from hydro lock going through a flooded street, when I took it apart to replace a few little chunks of the piston, after I put everything back together it had the crankshaft pos code and ran almost as if the timing was extremely retarded with not a lot of power, and the tachometer did not work. I replaced the sensor but it didn’t change anything , thinking it was the reluctor ring I got a almost new engine out of a cobalt that had been written off in a rear end collision, but once it was back together the rpm gauge worked but everything else was still the same and the engine light stayed on . After a week the rpm gauge stopped working again. I’m not sure what could be causeing this anymore can anyone give me any information at all??
