Pop noise when shifting

I own an 05 SS/SC, and I haven't had [U]any[U] problems with my car thus far. So recently when I shift (mostly into either 2nd or 4th gear) My shifter will make a weird pop noise. I'm wondering if it's the device on the actual shift nob that makes it do this? or if it's something serious that I need to have checked? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Go to the dealer and let them look at the linkage.. There was a thread awhile back about some knob in the shift linkage wearing out and had to be replaced and if it isnt fixed in time the shifter will break completely and will not shift.. I hope this doesnt scare you but just warning you.

If you have quite a few miles/ thousands of shifts on the car then its just a nylon bushing that is the pivot on the shifter. It may be slightly worn, or worn out.
