gassing up, pump shutting off?

interesting first post for me considering I've ahd the car for a week and it's brand new but..... I recently purchased an 06 Cobalt with only 43 miles on the ticker, the car is great (not as large or powerful as my old car, but, I'm not complaining)....... anyways, it's happened the alst few times my girlfriend gassed it up, the pump will stop pumping after fifty cents or so (just like your over-filling it) when it's not even near to full.... the first time it happened she managed a couple bucks, second time was only after about a dollar, and now it does it every fifty cents or so........ what could eb causing this problem.... it's more of an annoyance than anything (at least until winter).... I know that if there's a problem with the vent tube thingy along the filler neck that when the pressure changes disengages the the gas stations pump, but, the car is brand new...... aside from this minor annoyance, the car is awesome, and I would post more/post pictures if it weren't for a FUBAR computer and the fact I have to go on-line here at the library

dude thats just a pressure lock you dont have to cram the whole nozzle in it to pump gas just enough to to set it in there is suffencient. I guess the neck is real apt for that so dont set in the whole nozzle

Ive had no problem with fill-ups. You may have high volume nozzles in your area, around here we have the tiny little nozzles that squeeses every penny from you.
