White Smoke???

Just wondering if anybody else has had this kind of problem. After my cobalt ss/sc has sat for more than a few hours, at start up, it sputters at idle for about 30seconds or so and begins to smoke. After about 30 seconds more it stops smoking. Im sure its coolant being burned because of the smell and my coolant level is dropping. Ive checked the oil and no coolant has made it thier so far. My car has only 9000 miles on it & is bone stock. I was thinking that somethings devoloped in the intercooler as it is air to liquid. Any input on the situation would be greatly appriciated.

Most common cause is cracked head gasket. Fallowed by one of several things also being cracked, like you said maybe it is the supercharger.

nine times out of ten its a blown head gasket,
there is seperate coolant for the supercharger
if you are loosing it in the big jug to the right of the engine then it is most likely a blown head gasket or a cracked head
