abuse indicator light?

a buddy of mine was racing his redline saturday night, he was mostly running 16's, said his car wasnt running right. his last run was a 14.7 and said he received an "abuse indicator" and he had to shut his car down for his light. is anyone familiar with this?

It's a saturn ion redline right? I have one and if he's running 16's he needs to learn how to drive but to answer your question there is no "abuse light." However the car can go into "limp mode" where the car will drive very slowly cuz you just almost destoyed your car.

ok, i stand corrected. i asked him in further detail and what he described was actual limp mode. he said it was fine after he shut it down for a while. and he 14.3 was his actual best time, which is when it happened. does the "blackbox" store this info? i'd hate to see him screwed on his warranty later down the road because of it.

Nope no worries beat the crap out of the RL it loves every minute of it and asks for more. Just get some torque braces from Ironman so you don't break your azle from the massive wheel hop. Whats he got done running 14.3?
