'10 cobalt ss/tc oil change

Hey all I'm a new member so please be easy on me. Bought my baby about a month and a half ago and it's close to oil changing time. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how easy it is? I've changed my own oil my whole life and would like to keep that up. I'm not sure exactly where the oil filter is so if anyone has any advice or instructions I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks a lot!

Well, that didn't work. Go to cobaltss . net and look in the "How-To" section. The very first sticky-thread is the oil change how-to.

I found the oil change in the LS to be very easy. It is best to get the special socket for the oil filter, I have read that it is required for the SC cars, not sure about the TC cars.

When I pulled the filter out of the canister lid it splashed oil every where, so make sure you are not holding above the front of the car when you pull it apart.

Less than $30 synthetic and filter from WM, one jack + one stand and you're done in less than 20 minutes...

Garage
Turn the vehicle to the on position with the motor off. As soon as you have done that, press the gas pedal 3 times in less than 5 seconds and that should reset the light. If it doesn't try again and pump the gas pedal faster....

To find out if it worked, after following the steps, turn the vehicle on with the motor on this time and go to the oil change percentage using the O.D.O. button and it should read OIL LIFE 100%.

Hope this helps. IF for if some reason it is different then just read the owners manual.
